58: Al-Mujadilah المجادلة

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

قَدْ سَمِعَ اللّٰهُ قَوْلَ الَّتِىْ تُجَادِلُكَ فِىْ زَوْجِهَا وَ تَشْتَكِىْۤ اِلَى اللّٰهِ ۖ وَاللّٰهُ يَسْمَعُ تَحَاوُرَكُمَا ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ سَمِيْعٌ ۢ بَصِيْرٌ‏(1)

QAD SAME-A’L LAAHO QAWLAL LATEE TOJAADELOKA FEE ZAWJEHAA WA TASHTAKEE ELAL LAAH, WAL LAAHO YASMA-O’ TAHAAWORAKOMAA, INNAL LAAHA SAMEE-U’M BASEER.

Allah has certainly heard the speech of her who pleads with you about her husband and complains to Allah. Allah hears the conversation between the two of you. Indeed Allah is all-hearing, all-seeing.

اَلَّذِيْنَ يُظٰهِرُوْنَ مِنْكُمْ مِّنْ نِّسَآئِهِمْ مَّا هُنَّ اُمَّهٰتِهِمْؕ اِنْ اُمَّهٰتُهُمْ اِلَّا الّٰٓىِئْ وَلَدْنَهُمْؕ وَاِنَّهُمْ لَيَقُوْلُوْنَ مُنْكَرًا مِّنَ الْقَوْلِ وَزُوْرًاؕ وَ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُوْرٌ‏(2)

LAZEENA YOZAAHEROONA MINKUM MIN NESAAA-EHIM MAA HUNNA UMMAHAATEHIM, IN UMMAHAATOHUM ILLAL LAAA-EE WALADNAHUM, WA INNAHUM LAYAQOOLOONA MUNKARAM MENAL QAWLE WA ZOORAA, WA INNAL LAAHA LA-A’FUWWUN GHAFOOR.

As for those of you who repudiate their wives by zihar, they are not their mothers; their mothers are only those who bore them, and indeed they utter an outrage and a lie. Indeed Allah is all-excusing, all-forgiving.

وَالَّذِيْنَ يُظٰهِرُوْنَ مِنْ نِّسَآئِهِمْ ثُمَّ يَعُوْدُوْنَ لِمَا قَالُوْا فَتَحْرِيْرُ رَقَبَةٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّتَمَآسَّا ؕ ذٰ لِكُمْ تُوْعَظُوْنَ بِهٖ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرٌ‏(3)

WAL LAZEENA YOZAAHEROONA MIN NESAAA-EHIM SUMMA YA-O’ODOONA LEMAA QAALOO FA-TAHREERO RAQABATIM MIN QABLE AN-Y YATAMAASSAA, ZAALEKUM TOO-A’ZOONA BEH, WAL LAAHO BEMAA TA’MALOONA KHABEER.

Those who repudiate their wives by zihar and then retract what they have said, shall set free a slave before they may touch each other. This you are advised [to carry out], and Allah is well aware of what you do.

فَمَنْ لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّتَمَآسَّاؕ فَمَنْ لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَاِطْعَامُ سِتِّيْنَ مِسْكِيْنًاؕ ذٰلِكَ لِتُؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖؕ وَتِلْكَ حُدُوْدُ اللّٰهِؕ وَلِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ عَذَابٌ اَلِیْمٌ‏(4)

FAMAL LAM YAJID FA-SEYAAMO SHAHRAYNE MOTATAABE-A’YNE MIN QABLE AN-Y YATAMAASSAA, FAMAL LAM YASTATE’ FA-IT-A’AMO SITTEENA MISKEENAA, ZAALEKA LE-TOAMENOO BIL-LAAHE WA RASOOLEH, WA TILKA HODOODUL LAAH, WA LIL-KAAFEREENA A’ZAABUN ALEEM.

He who cannot afford [to free a slave] shall fast for two successive months before they may touch each other. If he cannot [do so], he shall feed sixty needy persons. This, that you may have faith in Allah and His Apostle. These are Allah’s bounds, and there is a painful punishment for the faithless.

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يُحَآدُّوْنَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ كُبِتُوْا كَمَا كُبِتَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَقَدْ اَنْزَلْنَاۤ اٰيٰتٍۢ بَيِّنٰتٍ ؕ وَ لِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ عَذَابٌ مُّهِيْنٌ ۚ‏(5)

INNAL LAZEENA YOHAADDOONAL LAAHA WA RASOOLAHU KOBETOO KAMAA KOBETAL LAZEENA MIN QABLEHIM WA QAD ANZALNAA AAYAATIM BAYYENAAT, WA LIL-KAAFEREENA A’ZAABUM MOHEEN.

Indeed those who oppose Allah and His Apostle will be subdued just as those who passed before them were subdued. We have certainly sent down manifest signs, and there is a humiliating punishment for the faithless.

يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُمُ اللّٰهُ جَمِيْعًا فَيُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا عَمِلُوْا ؕ اَحْصٰٮهُ اللّٰهُ وَنَسُوْهُ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيْدٌ‏(6)

YAWMA YAB-A’SOHOMUL LAAHO JAMEE-A’N FA-YONABBE-OHUM BEMAA A’MELOO, AHSAAHUL LAAHO WA NASOOH, WAL LAAHO A’LAA KULLE SHAY-IN SHAHEED.

The day when Allah will raise them all together, He will inform them about what they have done. Allah has kept account of it, while they have forgotten, and Allah is witness to all things.

اَلَمْ تَرَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِؕ مَا يَكُوْنُ مِنْ نَّجْوٰى ثَلٰثَةٍ اِلَّا هُوَ رَابِعُهُمْ وَلَا خَمْسَةٍ اِلَّا هُوَ سَادِسُهُمْ وَلَاۤ اَدْنٰى مِنْ ذٰ لِكَ وَلَاۤ اَكْثَرَ اِلَّا هُوَ مَعَهُمْ اَيْنَ مَا كَانُوْاۚ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا عَمِلُوْا يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ‏(7)

ALAM TARA ANNAL LAAHA YA’LAMO MAA FIS SAMAAWAATE WA MAA FIL ARZ, MAA YAKOONO MIN NAJWAA SALAASATIN ILLAA HOWA RAABE-O’HUM WA LAA KHAMSATIN ILLAA HOWA SAADESOHUM WA LAA ADNAA MIN ZAALEKA WA LAA AKSARA ILLAA HOWA MA-A’HUM AYNA MAA KAANOO, SUMMA YONABBE-OHUM BEMAA A’MELOO YAWMAL QEYAAMAH, INNAL LAAHA BE-KULLE SHAY-IN A’LEEM.

Have you not regarded that Allah knows whatever there is in the heavens and whatever there is in the earth? There dost not takes place any secret talk among three, but He is their fourth [companion], nor among five but He is their sixth, nor when they are less than that or more but He is with them wherever they may be. Then He will inform them about what they have done on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allah has knowledge of all things.

اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذِيْنَ نُهُوْا عَنِ النَّجْوٰى ثُمَّ يَعُوْدُوْنَ لِمَا نُهُوْا عَنْهُ وَيَتَنٰجَوْنَ بِالْاِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ الرَّسُوْلِ وَاِذَا جَآءُوْكَ حَيَّوْكَ بِمَا لَمْ يُحَيِّكَ بِهِ اللّٰهُۙ وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ فِىْۤ اَنْفُسِهِمْ لَوْلَا يُعَذِّبُنَا اللّٰهُ بِمَا نَقُوْلُؕ حَسْبُهُمْ جَهَنَّمُۚ يَصْلَوْنَهَاۚ فَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيْرُ‏(8)

ALAM TARA ELAL LAZEENA NOHOO A’NIN NAJWAA SUMMA YA-O’ODOONA LEMAA NOHOO A’NHO WA YATANAAJAWNA BIL-ISME WAL U’DWAANE WA MA’SEYATIR RASOOL, WA EZAA JAAA-OOKA HAYYAWKA BEMAA LAM YOHAYYEKA BEHIL LAAHO, WA YAQOOLOONA FEE ANFOSEHIM LAWLAA YO-A’ZZEBONAL LAAHO BEMAA NAQOOL, HASBOHUM JAHANNAM, YASLAWNAHAA, FA-BEASAL MASEER.

Have you not regarded those who were forbidden from secret talks but again resumed what they had been forbidden from, and hold secret talks [imbued] with sin and transgression and disobedience to the Apostle? And when they come to you they greet you with words with which Allah never greeted you, and they say to themselves, ‘Why does not Allah punish us for what we say?!’ Let hell suffice them: they shall enter it, and it is an evil destination!

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اِذَا تَنَاجَيْتُمْ فَلَا تَتَنَاجَوْا بِالْاِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ الرَّسُوْلِ وَتَنَاجَوْا بِالْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوٰىؕ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ الَّذِىْۤ اِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُوْنَ‏(9)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO EZAA TANAAJAYTUM FALAA TATANAAJAW BIL-ISME WAL U’DWAANE WA MA’SEYATIR RASOOLE WA TANAAJAW BIL-BIRRE WAT TAQWAA, WAT TAQUL LAAHAL LAZEE ELAYHE TOHSHAROON.

O you who have faith! When you converse secretly, do not hold private conversations [imbued] with sin and aggression and disobedience to the Apostle, but converse in [a spirit of] piety and Godfearing, and be wary of Allah toward whom you will be gathered.

اِنَّمَا النَّجْوٰى مِنَ الشَّيْطٰنِ لِيَحْزُنَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَلَيْسَ بِضَآرِّهِمْ شَيْئًا اِلَّا بِاِذْنِ اللّٰهِؕ وَعَلَى اللّٰهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ‏(10)

INNAMAN NAJWAA MENASH SHAYTAANE LE-YAHZONAL LAZEENA AAMANOO WA LAYSA BE-ZAARREHIM SHAY-AN ILLAA BE-IZNIL LAAH, WA A’LAL LAAHE FALYATAWAKKALIL MOAMENOON.

Indeed [malicious] secret talks are from Satan, that he may upset the faithful, but he cannot harm them in any way except by Allah’s leave, and in Allah let all the faithful put their trust.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اِذَا قِيْلَ لَكُمْ تَفَسَّحُوْا فِى الْمَجٰلِسِ فَافْسَحُوْا يَفْسَحِ اللّٰهُ لَكُمْ ۚ وَاِذَا قِيْلَ انْشُزُوْا فَانْشُزُوْا يَرْفَعِ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مِنْكُمْ ۙ وَالَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ دَرَجٰتٍ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرٌ‏(11)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO EZAA QEELA LAKUM TAFASSAHOO FIL MAJAALESE FAFSAHOO YAFSAHIL LAAHO LAKUM, WA EZAA QEELAN SHOZOO FANSHOZOO YARFA-I’L LAAHUL LAZEENA AAMANOO MINKUM, WAL LAZEENA OOTUL I’LMA DARAJAAT, WAL LAAHO BEMAA TA’MALOONA KHABEER.

O you who have faith! When you are told, ‘Make room,’ in sittings, then do make room; Allah will make room for you. And when you are told, ‘Rise up!’ Do rise up. Allah will raise in rank those of you who have faith and those who have been given knowledge, and Allah is well aware of what you do.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اِذَا نَاجَيْتُمُ الرَّسُوْلَ فَقَدِّمُوْا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ نَجْوٰٮكُمْ صَدَقَةً ؕ ذٰ لِكَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَاَطْهَرُ ؕ فَاِنْ لَّمْ تَجِدُوْا فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ‏(12)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO EZAA NAAJAYTOMUR RASOOLA FA-QADDEMOO BAYNA YADAY NAJWAAKUM SADAQAH, ZAALEKA KHAYRUL LAKUM WA ATHAR, FA-IL LAM TAJEDOO FA-INNAL LAAHA GHAFOORUR RAHEEM.

O you who have faith! When you converse privately with the Apostle, offer a charity before your private talk. That is better for you and purer. But if you cannot afford [to make the offering], then Allah is indeed all-forgiving, all-merciful.

ءَاَشْفَقْتُمْ اَنْ تُقَدِّمُوْا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ نَجْوٰٮكُمْ صَدَقٰتٍ ؕ فَاِذْ لَمْ تَفْعَلُوْا وَتَابَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاَقِيْمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَ اٰتُوا الزَّكٰوةَ وَاَطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ خَبِيْرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ‏(13)

A-ASHFAQTUM AN TOQADDEMOO BAYNA YADAY NAJWAAKUM SADAQAAT, FA-IZ LAM TAF-A’LOO WA TAABAL LAAHO A’LAYKUM FA-AQEEMUS SALAATA WA AATUZ ZAKAATA WA ATEE-U’L LAAHA WA RASOOLAH, WAL LAAHO KHABEERUM BEMAA TA’MALOON.

Were you dismayed by having to offer charities before your private talks? Since you did not do it, and Allah has excused you [for not be able to comply], now maintain the prayer and pay the zakat, and obey Allah and His Apostle. Allah is well aware of what you do.

اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذِيْنَ تَوَلَّوْا قَوْمًا غَضِبَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْؕ مَّا هُمْ مِّنْكُمْ وَلَا مِنْهُمْۙ وَيَحْلِفُوْنَ عَلَى الْكَذِبِ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُوْنَ‏(14)

ALAM TARA ELAL LAZEENA TAWALLAW QAWMAN GHAZEBAL LAAHO A’LAYHIM, MAA HUM MINKUM WA LAA MINHUM, WA YAHLEFOONA A’LAL KAZEBE WA HUM YA’LAMOON.

Have you not regarded those who befriend a people at whom Allah is wrathful? They neither belong to you, nor to them, and they swear false oaths [that they are with you] and they know.

اَعَدَّ اللّٰهُ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيْدًا ؕ اِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ‏(15)

A-A’DDAL LAAHO LAHUM A’ZAABAN SHADEEDAA, INNAHUM SAAA-A MAA KAANOO YA’MALOON.

Allah has prepared a severe punishment for them. Evil indeed is what they used to do.

اِتَّخَذُوْۤا اَيْمَانَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوْا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِيْنٌ‏(16)

ITTAKHAZOO AYMAANAHUM JUNNATAN FA-SADDOO A’N SABEELIL LAAHE FALAHUM A’ZAABUM MOHEEN.

They make a shield of their oaths and bar [people] from the way of Allah; so there is a humiliating punishment for them.

لَنْ تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ اَمْوَالُهُمْ وَلَاۤ اَوْلَادُهُمْ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْئًا ؕ اُولٰٓئِكَ اَصْحٰبُ النَّارِ ؕ هُمْ فِيْهَا خٰلِدُوْنَ‏(17)

LAN TUGHNEYA A’NHUM AMWAALOHUM WA LAA AWLAADOHUM MENAL LAAHE SHAY-AA, OOLAAA-EKA ASHAABUN NAAR, HUM FEEHAA KHAALEDOON.

Their possessions and children will not avail them in any way against Allah. They shall be the inmates of the Fire and they shall remain in it [forever].

يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُمُ اللّٰهُ جَمِيْعًا فَيَحْلِفُوْنَ لَهٗ كَمَا يَحْلِفُوْنَ لَكُمْ وَيَحْسَبُوْنَ اَنَّهُمْ عَلٰى شَىْءٍ ؕ اَلَاۤ اِنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْكٰذِبُوْنَ‏(18)

YAWMA YAB-A’SOHOMUL LAAHO JAMEE-A’N FA-YAHLEFOONA LAHU KAMAA YAHLEFOONA LAKUM WA YAHSABOONA ANNAHUM A’LAA SHAY, ALAA INNAHUM HOMUL KAAZEBOON.

The day when Allah will raise them all together, they will swear to Him, just like they swear to you [now], supposing that they stand on something. Look! They are indeed liars!

اِسْتَحْوَذَ عَلَيْهِمُ الشَّيْطٰنُ فَاَنْسٰٮهُمْ ذِكْرَ اللّٰهِؕ اُولٰٓئِكَ حِزْبُ الشَّيْطٰنِؕ اَلَاۤ اِنَّ حِزْبَ الشَّيْطٰنِ هُمُ الْخٰسِرُوْنَ‏(19)

ISTAHWAZA A’LAYHEMUSH SHAYTAANO FA-ANSAAHUM ZIKRAL LAAH, OOLAAA-EKA HIZBUSH SHAYTAAN, ALAA INNA HIZBASH SHAYTAANE HOMUL KHAASEROON.

Satan has prevailed upon them, so he has caused them to forget the remembrance of Allah. They are Satan’s confederates. Look! Indeed, it is Satan’s confederates who are the losers!

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يُحَآدُّوْنَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗۤ اُولٰٓئِكَ فِى الْاَذَلِّيْنَ‏(20)

INNAL LAZEENA YOHAADDOONAL LAAHA WA RASOOLAHU OOLAAA-EKA FIL AZALLEEN.

Indeed those who oppose Allah and His Apostle—they will be among the most abased.

كَتَبَ اللّٰهُ لَاَغْلِبَنَّ اَنَا وَرُسُلِىْؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ قَوِىٌّ عَزِيْزٌ‏(21)

KATABAL LAAHO LA-AGHLEBANNA ANAA WA ROSOLEE, INNAL LAAHA QAWIYYUN A’ZEEZ.

Allah has ordained: ‘I shall surely prevail, I and My apostles.’ Indeed Allah is all-strong, all-mighty.

لَا تَجِدُ قَوْمًا يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِ يُوَآدُّوْنَ مَنْ حَآدَّ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ وَلَوْ كَانُوْۤا اٰبَآءَهُمْ اَوْ اَبْنَآءَهُمْ اَوْ اِخْوَانَهُمْ اَوْ عَشِيْرَتَهُمْؕ اُولٰٓئِكَ كَتَبَ فِىْ قُلُوْبِهِمُ الْاِيْمَانَ وَاَيَّدَهُمْ بِرُوْحٍ مِّنْهُ ؕ وَيُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِىْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا ؕ رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوْا عَنْهُ ؕ اُولٰٓئِكَ حِزْبُ اللّٰهِ ؕ اَلَاۤ اِنَّ حِزْبَ اللّٰهِ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ‏(22)

LAA TAJEDO QAWMAN-Y YOAMENOONA BIL-LAAHE WAL YAWMIL AAKHERE YOWAADDOONA MAN HAADDAL LAAHA WA RASOOLAHU WA LAW KAANOO AABAAA-AHUM AW ABNAAA-AHUM AW IKHWAANAHUM AW A’SHEERATAHUM, OOLAAA-EKA KATABA FEE QOLOOBEHEMUL EEMAANA WA AYYADAHUM BE-ROOHIM MINH, WA YUDKHELOHUM JANNAATIN TAJREE MIN TAHTEHAL ANHAARO KHAALEDEENA FEEHAA, RAZEYAL LAAHO A’NHUM WA RAZOO A’NH, OOLAAA-EKA HIZBUL LAAH, ALAA INNA HIZBAL LAAHE HOMUL MUFLEHOON.

You will not find a people believing in Allah and the Last Day endearing those who oppose Allah and His Apostle even though they were their own parents, or children, or brothers, or kinsfolk. [For] such, He has written faith into their hearts and strengthened them with a spirit from Him. He will admit them into gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them [forever], Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. They are Allah’s confederates. Look! The confederates of Allah are indeed felicitous!

59: Al-Hashr الحشر

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

سَبَّحَ لِلّٰهِ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ‏(1)

SABBAHA LILLAAHE MAA FIS SAMAAWAATE WA MAA FIL ARZ, WA HOWAL A’ZEEZUL HAKEEM.

Whatever there is in the heavens and whatever there is in the earth glorifies Allah, and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.

هُوَ الَّذِىْۤ اَخْرَجَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ اَهْلِ الْكِتٰبِ مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ لِاَوَّلِ الْحَشْرِؔؕ مَا ظَنَنْتُمْ اَنْ يَّخْرُجُوْا وَظَنُّوْۤا اَنَّهُمْ مَّانِعَتُهُمْ حُصُوْنُهُمْ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ فَاَتٰٮهُمُ اللّٰهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَمْ يَحْتَسِبُوْا وَقَذَفَ فِىْ قُلُوْبِهِمُ الرُّعْبَ يُخْرِبُوْنَ بُيُوْتَهُمْ بِاَيْدِيْهِمْ وَاَيْدِى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ فَاعْتَبِرُوْا يٰۤاُولِى الْاَبْصَارِ‏(2)

HOWAL LAZEE AKHRAJAL LAZEENA KAFAROO MIN AHLIL KETAABE MIN DEYAAREHIM LE-AWWALIL HASHR, MAA ZANANTUN ANY YAKHROJOO WA ZANNOO ANNAHUM MAANE-A’TOHUM HOSOONOHUM MENAL LAAHE FA-ATAAHOMUL LAAHO MIN HAYSO LAM YAHTASEBOO, WA QAZAFA FEE QOLOOBEHEMUR RO’BA YUKHREBOONA BOYOOTAHUM BE-AYDEEHIM WA AYDIL MOAMENEEN, FAA’TABEROO YAA OOLIL ABSAAR.

It is He who expelled the faithless belonging to the People of the Book from their homes at the outset of [their] en masse banishment. You did not think that they would go out, and they thought their fortresses would protect them from Allah. But Allah came at them from whence they did not suppose and He cast terror into their hearts. They demolish their houses with their own hands and the hands of the faithful. So take lesson, O you who have insight!

وَلَوْلَاۤ اَنْ كَتَبَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْجَلَاۤءَ لَعَذَّبَهُمْ فِى الدُّنْيَاؕ وَلَهُمْ فِى الْاٰخِرَةِ عَذَابُ النَّارِ‏(3)

WA LAW LAA AN KATABAL LAAHO A’LAYHEMUL JALAAA-A LA-A’ZZABAHUM FID DUNYAA, WA LAHUM FIL AAKHERATE A’ZAABUN NAAR.

If Allah had not ordained banishment for them, He would have surely punished them in this world, and in the Hereafter, there is the punishment of the Fire for them.

ذٰ لِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ شَآقُّوا اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ ۚ وَمَنْ يُّشَآقِّ اللّٰهَ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ شَدِيْدُ الْعِقَابِ‏(4)

ZAALEKA BE-ANNAHUM SHAAQQUL LAAHA WA RASOOLAHU, WA MANY YOSHAAQQIL LAAHA FA-INNAL LAAHA SHADEEDUL E’QAAB.

That is because they defied Allah and His Apostle; and whoever defies Allah, Allah is indeed severe in retribution.

مَا قَطَعْتُمْ مِّنْ لِّيْنَةٍ اَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوْهَا قَآئِمَةً عَلٰٓى اُصُوْلِهَا فَبِاِذْنِ اللّٰهِ وَلِيُخْزِىَ الْفٰسِقِيْنَ‏(5)

MAA QATA’TUM MIL LEENATIN AW TARAKTOMOOHAA QAAA-EMATAN A’LAA OSOOLEHAA FA-BEIZNIL LAAHE WA LE-YUKHZEYAL FAASEQEEN.

Whatever palm trees you cut down or left standing on their roots, it was by Allah’s will and in order that He may disgrace the transgressors.

وَمَاۤ اَفَآءَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى رَسُوْلِهٖ مِنْهُمْ فَمَاۤ اَوْجَفْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ خَيْلٍ وَّلَا رِكَابٍ وَّلٰڪِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُسَلِّطُ رُسُلَهٗ عَلٰى مَنْ يَّشَآءُؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ‏(6)

WA MAA A-FAAA-AL LAAHO A’LAA RASOOLEHI MINHUM FAMAA AWJAFTUM A’LAYHE MIN KHAYLINW WA LAA REKAABINW WA LAAKINNAL LAAHA YOSALLETO ROSOLAHU A’LAA MANY YASHAAA, WAL LAAHO A’LAA KULLE SHAYIN QADEER.

The spoils that Allah gave to His Apostle from them, you did not spur any horse for its sake, nor any riding camel, but Allah makes His apostles prevail over whomever He wishes, and Allah has power over all things.

مَاۤ اَفَآءَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى رَسُوْلِهٖ مِنْ اَهْلِ الْقُرٰى فَلِلّٰهِ وَلِلرَّسُوْلِ وَلِذِى الْقُرْبٰى وَالْيَتٰمٰى وَالْمَسٰكِيْنِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيْلِۙ كَىْ لَا يَكُوْنَ دُوْلَةًۢ بَيْنَ الْاَغْنِيَآءِ مِنْكُمْ ؕ وَمَاۤ اٰتٰٮكُمُ الرَّسُوْلُ فَخُذُوْهُ وَ مَا َنَهٰٮكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوْا ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ شَدِيْدُ الْعِقَابِۘ‏(7)

MAAA AFAA-AL LAAHO A’LAA RASOOLEHI MIN AHLIL QORAA FALILLAAHE WA LIRRASOOLE WALEZIL QURBAA WAL YATAAMAA WAL MASAAKEENE WABNIS SABEELE, KAY LAA YAKOONA DOOLATAM BAYNAL AGHNEYAAA-E MINKUM, WA MAA AATAAKOMUR RASOOLO FA-KHOZOOH, WA MAA NAHAAKUM A’NHO FANTAHOO, WAT TAQUL LAAH, INNAL LAAHA SHADEEDUL E’QAAB.

The spoils that Allah gave to His Apostle from the people of the townships, are for Allah and the Apostle, the relatives and the orphans, the needy and the traveller, so that they do not circulate among the rich among you. Take whatever the Apostle gives you, and refrain from whatever he forbids you, and be wary of Allah. Indeed Allah is severe in retribution.

لِلْفُقَرَآءِ الْمُهٰجِرِيْنَ الَّذِيْنَ اُخْرِجُوْا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ وَاَمْوَالِهِمْ يَبْتَغُوْنَ فَضْلًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَرِضْوَانًا وَّيَنْصُرُوْنَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗؕ اُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الصّٰدِقُوْنَۚ‏(8)

LIL-FOQARAAA-IL MOHAAJEREENAL LAZEENA UKHREJOO MIN DEYAAREHIM WA AMWAALEHIM YABTAGHOONA FAZLAM MENAL LAAHE WA RIZWAANANW WA YANSOROONAL LAAHA WA RASOOLAH, OOLAAA-EKA HOMUS SAADEQOON.

[They are also] for the poor Emigrants who have been expelled from their homes and [wrested of] their possessions, who seek grace from Allah and [His] pleasure and help Allah and His Apostle. It is they who are the truthful.

وَالَّذِيْنَ تَبَوَّؤُ الدَّارَ وَالْاِيْمَانَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ يُحِبُّوْنَ مَنْ هَاجَرَ اِلَيْهِمْ وَلَا يَجِدُوْنَ فِىْ صُدُوْرِهِمْ حَاجَةً مِّمَّاۤ اُوْتُوْا وَيُؤْثِرُوْنَ عَلٰٓى اَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌ ؕ وَمَنْ يُّوْقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهٖ فَاُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَۚ‏(9)

WAL LAZEENA TABAWWA-UD DAARA WAL EEMAANA MIN QABLEHIM YOHIBBOONA MAN HAAJARA ELAYHIM WA LAA YAJEDOONA FEE SODOOREHIM HAAJATAM MIMMAA OOTOO WA YOA-SEROONA A’LAA ANFUSEHIM WA LAU KAANA BEHIM KHASAASATUNW, WA MANY YOOQA SHOH-HA NAFSEHI FA-OOLAAA-EKA HOMUL MUFLEHOONA.

[They are as well] for those who were settled in the land and [abided] in faith before them, who love those who migrate toward them, and do not find in their breasts any privation for that which is given to them, but prefer [the Immigrants] to themselves, though poverty be their own lot. And those who are saved from their own greed—it is they who are the felicitous.

وَالَّذِيْنَ جَآءُوْ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهِمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِاِخْوَانِنَا الَّذِيْنَ سَبَقُوْنَا بِالْاِيْمَانِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ فِىْ قُلُوْبِنَا غِلًّا لِّلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا رَبَّنَاۤ اِنَّكَ رَءُوْفٌ رَّحِيْمٌ‏(10)

WAL LAZEENA JAAA-OO MIM BA’DEHIM YAQOOLOONA RABBANAGH FIR LANAA WA LE IKHWAANENAL LAZEENA SABAQOONAA BIL-EEMAANE WA LAA TAJ-A’L FEE QOLOOBENAA GHILLAL LIL LAZEENA AAMANOO RABBANAA INNAKA RAOOFUR RAHEEM.

And [also for] those who came in after them, who say, ‘Our Lord, forgive us and our brethren who were our forerunners in the faith, and do not put any rancour in our hearts toward the faithful. Our Lord, You are indeed most kind and merciful.’

اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذِيْنَ نَافَقُوْا يَقُوْلُوْنَ لِاِخْوَانِهِمُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ اَهْلِ الْكِتٰبِ لَئِنْ اُخْرِجْتُمْ لَنَخْرُجَنَّ مَعَكُمْ وَلَا نُطِيْعُ فِيْكُمْ اَحَدًا اَبَدًاۙ وَّاِنْ قُوْتِلْتُمْ لَنَنْصُرَنَّكُمْ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَشْهَدُ اِنَّهُمْ لَكٰذِبُوْنَ‏(11)

ALAM TARA ELAL LAZEENA NAAFAQOO YAQOOLOONA LE-IKHWAANEHEMUL LAZEENA KAFAROO MIN AHLIL KETAABE LA-IN UKHRIJTUM LA-NAKHROJANNA MA-A’KUM WA LAA NOTEE-O’ FEEKUM AHADAN ABADANW, WA IN QOOTILTUM LA-NANSORANNAKUM, WAL LAAHO YASHHADO INNAHUM LA-KAAZEBOON.

Have you not regarded the hypocrites who say to their brethren, the faithless from among the People of the Book, ‘If you are expelled, we will surely go out with you, and we will never obey anyone against you, and if you are fought against we will surely help you,’ and Allah bears witness that they are indeed liars.

لَئِنْ اُخْرِجُوْا لَا يَخْرُجُوْنَ مَعَهُمْۚ وَلَئِنْ قُوْتِلُوْا لَا يَنْصُرُوْنَهُمْۚ وَلَئِنْ نَّصَرُوْهُمْ لَيُوَلُّنَّ الْاَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنْصَرُوْنَ‏(12)

LAIN UKHREJOO LAA YAKHROJOONA MA-A’HUM, WA LAIN QOOTELOO LAA YANSOROONAHUM, WA LAIN NASAROOHUM LA-YOWALLUNNAL ADBAAR, SUMMA LAA YUNSAROON.

Surely, if they were expelled they will not go out with them, and if they were fought against they will not help them, and [even if] they were to help them they will turn their backs [to flee] and eventually they will not be helped.

لَاَنْتُمْ اَشَدُّ رَهْبَةً فِىْ صُدُوْرِهِمْ مِّنَ اللّٰهِؕ ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُوْنَ‏(13)

LA-ANTUM ASHADDO RAHBATAN FEE SODOOREHIM MENAL LAAH, ZAALEKA BE-ANNAHUM QAWMUL LAA YAFQAHOON.

Indeed they have a greater awe of you in their hearts than of Allah. That is because they are a lot who do not understand.

لَا يُقَاتِلُوْنَكُمْ جَمِيْعًا اِلَّا فِىْ قُرًى مُّحَصَّنَةٍ اَوْ مِنْ وَّرَآءِ جُدُرٍؕ بَاْسُهُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ شَدِيْدٌؕ تَحْسَبُهُمْ جَمِيْعًا وَّقُلُوْبُهُمْ شَتّٰىؕ ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَعْقِلُوْنَۚ‏(14)

LA YOQAATELOONAKUM JAMEE-A’N ILLAA FEE QORAM MOHASSANATIN AW MINW WARAAA-E JODOR, BAASOHUM BAYNAHUM SHADEED, TAHSABOHUM JAMEE-A’NW WA QOLOOBOHUM SHATTAA, ZAALEKA BE-ANNAHUM QAWMUL LAA YA’QELOON.

They will not fight against you together except in fortified townships or from behind walls. Their fierceness is great only within themselves. You suppose them to be united, but their hearts are divided. That is because they are a lot who do not exercise their reason,

كَمَثَلِ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ قَرِيْبًا ذَاقُوْا وَبَالَ اَمْرِهِمْۚ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌۚ‏(15)

KAMASALIL LAZEENA MIN QABLEHIM QAREEBAN ZAAQOO WA BAALA AMREHIM, WA LAHUM A’ZAABUN ALEEM.

just like those who tasted the evil consequence of their conduct recently before them, and there is a painful punishment for them.

كَمَثَلِ الشَّيْطٰنِ اِذْ قَالَ لِلْاِنْسَانِ اكْفُرْۚ فَلَمَّا كَفَرَ قَالَ اِنِّىْ بَرِىْٓءٌ مِّنْكَ اِنِّىْۤ اَخَافُ اللّٰهَ رَبَّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ‏(16)

KAMASALISH SHAYTAANE IZ QAALAL INSAANIK FUR, FALAMMAA KAFARA QAALA INNEE BAREEE-UM MINKA INNEE AKHAAFUL LAAHA RABBAL A’ALAMEEN.

[The hypocrites are] like Satan when he tells man to disbelieve, but when he disbelieves, he says, ‘I am absolved of you. Indeed I fear Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.’

فَكَانَ عَاقِبَتَهُمَاۤ اَنَّهُمَا فِى النَّارِ خَالِدَيْنِ فِيْهَا ؕ وَذٰ لِكَ جَزٰٓؤُا الظّٰلِمِيْن‏(17)

FAKAANA A’AQEBATAHOMAA ANNAHOMAA FIN NAARE KHAALEDAYNE FEEHAA, WA ZAALEKA JAZAAA-UZ ZAALEMEEN.

So the fate of both is that they will be in the Fire, to remain in it [forever]. Such is the requital of the wrongdoers.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَلْتَنْظُرْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ خَبِيْرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ‏(18)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANUT TAQUL LAAHA WAL TANZUR NAFSUM MAA QADDAMAT LE-GHAD, WAT TAQUL LAAH, INNAL LAAHA KHABEERUM BEMAA TA’MALOON.

O you who have faith! Be wary of Allah, and let every soul consider what it sends ahead for Tomorrow, and be wary of Allah. Allah is indeed well aware of what you do

وَلَا تَكُوْنُوْا كَالَّذِيْنَ نَسُوا اللّٰهَ فَاَنْسٰٮهُمْ اَنْفُسَهُمْؕ اُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْفٰسِقُوْنَ‏(19)

WA LAA TAKOONOO KAL LAZEENA NASUL LAAHA FA-ANSAAHUM ANFOSAHUM, OOLAAA-EKA HOMUL FAASEQOON.

Do not be like those who forget Allah, so He makes them forget their own souls. It is they who are the transgressors.

لَا يَسْتَوِىْۤ اَصْحٰبُ النَّارِ وَاَصْحٰبُ الْجَنَّةِؕ اَصْحٰبُ الْجَنَّةِ هُمُ الْفَآئِزُوْنَ‏(20)

LAA YASTAWEE ASHAABUN NAARE WA ASHAABUL JANNAH, ASHAABUL JANNATE HOMUL FAAA-EZOON.

Not equal are the inmates of the Fire and the inhabitants of paradise. It is the inhabitants of paradise who are the successful ones.

لَوْ اَنْزَلْنَا هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنَ عَلٰى جَبَلٍ لَّرَاَيْتَهٗ خَاشِعًا مُّتَصَدِّعًا مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ اللّٰهِؕ وَتِلْكَ الْاَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوْنَ‏(21)

LAW ANZALNAA HAAZAL QUR-AANA A’LAA JABALIL LA-RA-AYTAHU KHAASHEA’M MOTASADDE-A’M MIN KHASHYATIL LAAH, WA TILKAL AMSAALO NAZREBOHAA LINNAASE LA-A’LLAHUM YATAFAKKAROON.

Had We sent down this Quran upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled [and] go to pieces with the fear of Allah. We draw such comparisons for mankind, so that they may reflect.

هُوَ اللّٰهُ الَّذِىْ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ ۚ عٰلِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ ۚ هُوَ الرَّحْمٰنُ الرَّحِيْمُ‏(22)

HOWAL LAAHUL LAZEE LAA ELAAHA ILLAA HOWA, A’ALEMUL GHAYBE WASH SHAHAADATE, HOWAR RAHMAANUR RAHEEM.

He is Allah—there is no god except Him—Knower of the sensible and the Unseen, He is the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

هُوَ اللّٰهُ الَّذِىْ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۚ اَلْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوْسُ السَّلٰمُ الْمُؤْمِنُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْعَزِيْزُ الْجَبَّارُ الْمُتَكَبِّرُؕ سُبْحٰنَ اللّٰهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ‏(23)

HOWAL LAAHUL LAZEE LAA ELAAHA ILLAA HOWAL MALEKUL QUDDOOSUS SALAAMUL MOA-MENUL MOHAYMENUL A’ZEEZUL JABBAARUL MOTAKABBER, SUB-HAANAL LAAHE A’MMAA YUSHREKOON.

He is Allah—there is no god except Him—the Sovereign, the All-holy, the All-benign, the Securer, the All-conserver, the All-mighty, the All-compeller, and the All-magnanimous. Clear is Allah of any partners that they may ascribe [to Him]!

هُوَ اللّٰهُ الْخَالِقُ الْبَارِئُ الْمُصَوِّرُ لَهُ الْاَسْمَآءُ الْحُسْنٰىؕ يُسَبِّحُ لَهٗ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ‏(24)

HOWAL LAAHUL KHAALEQUL BAARE-UL MOSAWWERO LAHUL ASMAA-UL HUSNAA, YOSABBEHO LAHU MAA FIS-SAMAAWAATE WAL ARZ, WA HOWAL A’ZEEZUL HAKEEM.

He is Allah, the Creator, the Maker, and the Former. To Him belong the Best Names. Whatever there is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.

60: Al-Mumtahanah الممتحنة

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَتَّخِذُوْا عَدُوِّىْ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ اَوْلِيَآءَ تُلْقُوْنَ اِلَيْهِمْ بِالْمَوَدَّةِ وَقَدْ كَفَرُوْا بِمَا جَآءَكُمْ مِّنَ الْحَقِّ‌ ۚ يُخْرِجُوْنَ الرَّسُوْلَ وَاِيَّاكُمْ‌ اَنْ تُؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ رَبِّكُمْ ؕ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ خَرَجْتُمْ جِهَادًا فِىْ سَبِيْلِىْ وَ ابْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِىْ ‌ۖ  تُسِرُّوْنَ اِلَيْهِمْ بِالْمَوَدَّةِ ‌ۖ  وَاَنَا اَعْلَمُ بِمَاۤ اَخْفَيْتُمْ وَمَاۤ اَعْلَنْتُمْ‌ؕ وَمَنْ يَّفْعَلْهُ مِنْكُمْ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ السَّبِيْلِ‏(1)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO LAA TATTAKHEZOO A’DUWWEE WA A’DUWWAKUM AWLEYAAA-A TULQOONA ELAYHIM BIL-MAWADDATE WA QAD KAFAROO BEMAA JAAA-AKUM MENAL HAQ, YUKHREJOONAR RASOOLA WA IYYAAKUM AN TOAMENOO BIL-LAAHE RABBEKUM, IN KUNTUM KHARAJTUM JEHAADAN FEE SABEELEE WAB TEGHAAA-A MARZAATEE, TOSIRROONA ELAYHIM BIL-MAWADDAH, WA ANAA A-A’LAMO BEMAA AKHFAYTUM WA MAA A-A’LANTUM, WA MAN-Y YAF-A’LHO MINKUM FAQAD ZALLA SAWAAA-AS SABEEL.

O you who have faith! Do not take My enemy and your enemy for friends, [secretly] offering them affection, if you have set out for jihad in My way and to seek My pleasure, for they have certainly denied whatever has come to you of the truth, expelling the Apostle and you, because you have faith in Allah, your Lord. You secretly nourish affection for them, while I know well whatever you hide and whatever you disclose, and whoever among you does that has certainly strayed from the right way.

اِنْ يَّثْقَفُوْكُمْ يَكُوْنُوْا لَكُمْ اَعْدَآءً وَّيَبْسُطُوْۤا اِلَيْكُمْ اَيْدِيَهُمْ وَاَلْسِنَتَهُمْ بِالسُّوْٓءِ وَوَدُّوْا لَوْ تَكْفُرُوْنَؕ‏(2)

IN-Y YASQAFOOKUM YAKOONOO LAKUM A-A’DAAA-ANW WA YABSOTOO ELAYKUM AYDEYAHUM WA ALSENATAHUM BIS-SOO-E WA WADDOO LAW TAKFOROON.

If they were to confront you they would be your enemies, and would stretch out against you their hands and [unleash] their tongues with evil [intentions], and they are eager that you [too] should be faithless.

لَنْ تَنْفَعَكُمْ اَرْحَامُكُمْ وَلَاۤ اَوْلَادُكُمْ ۛۚ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ ۛۚ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَكُمْ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرٌ‏(3)

LAN TANFA-A’KUM ARHAAMOKUM WA LAA AWLAADOKUM, YAWMAL QEYAAMAH, YAFSELO BAYNAKUM, WAL LAAHO BEMAA TA’MALOONA BASEER.

Your relatives and children will not avail you on the Day of Resurrection: He will separate you [from one another], and Allah watches what you do.

قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ اُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ فِىْۤ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَالَّذِيْنَ مَعَهٗ‌ۚ اِذْ قَالُوْا لِقَوْمِهِمْ اِنَّا بُرَءٰٓؤُا مِنْكُمْ وَمِمَّا تَعْبُدُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ كَفَرْنَا بِكُمْ وَبَدَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةُ وَالْبَغْضَآءُ اَبَدًا حَتّٰى تُؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَحْدَهٗۤ اِلَّا قَوْلَ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ لِاَبِيْهِ لَاَسْتَغْفِرَنَّ لَكَ وَمَاۤ اَمْلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ اللّٰهِ مِنْ شَىْءٍ ‌ؕ رَبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَاِلَيْكَ اَنَبْنَا وَاِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيْرُ‏(4)

QAD KAANAT LAKUM USWATUN HASANATUN FEE IBRAAHEEMA WAL LAZEENA MA-A’H, IZ QAALOO LE-QAWMEHIM INNAA BORA-AAA-O MINKUM WA MIMMAA TA’BODOONA MIN DOONIL LAAH, KAFARNAA BEKUM WA BADAA BAYNANAA WA BAYNAKOMUL A’DAAWATO WAL BAGHZAAA-O ABADAN HATTAA TOAMENOO BIL-LAAHE WAHDAHU ILLAA QAWLA IBRAAHEEMA LE-ABEEHE LA-ASTAGHFERANNA LAKA WA MAA AMLEKO LAKA MENAL LAAHE MIN SHAY, RABBANAA A’LAYKA TAWAKKALNAA WA ELAYKA ANABNAA WA ELAYKAL MASEER.

There is certainly a good exemplar for you in Abraham and those who were with him, when they said to their own people, ‘Indeed we repudiate you and whatever you worship besides Allah. We disown you, and enmity and hate have appeared between you and us for ever, unless you come to have faith in Allah alone,’ apart from Abraham’s saying to his father, ‘I will surely plead forgiveness for you, though I cannot avail you anything against Allah.’ ‘Our Lord! In You do we put our trust, and to You do we turn penitently, and toward You is the destination.

رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا رَبَّنَا‌ ۚ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ‏(5)

RABBANAA LAA TAJ-A’LNAA FITNATAL LILLAZEENA KAFAROO WAGH FIR LANAA RABBANAA, INNAKA ANTAL A’ZEEZUL HAKEEM.

Our Lord! Do not make us a test for the faithless, and forgive us. Our Lord! Indeed You are the All-mighty, the All-wise.’

لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِيْهِمْ اُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُوا اللّٰهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْاٰخِرَ‌ ؕ وَمَنْ يَّتَوَلَّ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الْغَنِىُّ الْحَمِيْدُ‏(6)

LAQAD KAANA LAKUM FEEHIM USWATUN HASANATUL LEMAN KAANA YARJUL LAAHA WAL YAWMAL AAKHER, WA MAN-Y YATAWALLA FA-INNAL LAAHA HOWAL GHANIYYUL HAMEED.

There is certainly a good exemplar for you in them—for those who look forward to Allah and the Last Day—and anyone who refuses to comply [should know that] indeed Allah is the All-sufficient, the All-laudable.

عَسَى اللّٰهُ اَنْ يَّجْعَلَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ الَّذِيْنَ عَادَيْتُمْ مِّنْهُمْ مَّوَدَّةً ؕ وَاللّٰهُ قَدِيْرٌ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ‏(7)

A’SAL LAAHO AN-Y YAJ-A’LA BAYNAKUM WA BAYNAL LAZEENA A’ADAYTUM MINHUM MAWADDAH, WAL LAAHO QADEER, WAL LAAHO GHAFOORUR RAHEEM.

It may be that Allah will bring about affection between you and those with whom you are at enmity, and Allah is all-powerful, and Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.

لَا يَنْهٰٮكُمُ اللّٰهُ عَنِ الَّذِيْنَ لَمْ يُقَاتِلُوْكُمْ فِى الدِّيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجُوْكُمْ مِّنْ دِيَارِكُمْ اَنْ تَبَرُّوْهُمْ وَ تُقْسِطُوْۤا اِلَيْهِمْ‌ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِيْنَ‏(8)

LAA YANHAAKOMUL LAAHO A’NIL LAZEENA LAM YOQAATELOOKUM FID DEENE WA LAM YUKHREJOOKUM MIN DEYAAREKUM AN TABARROOHUM WA TUQSETOO ELAYHIM, INNAL LAAHA YOHIBBUL MUQSETEEN.

Allah does not forbid you from dealing with kindness and justice with those [polytheists] who did not make war against you on account of religion and did not expel you from your homes. Indeed Allah loves the just.

اِنَّمَا يَنْهٰٮكُمُ اللّٰهُ عَنِ الَّذِيْنَ قَاتَلُوْكُمْ فِى الدِّيْنِ وَاَخْرَجُوْكُمْ مِّنْ دِيَارِكُمْ وَظَاهَرُوْا عَلٰٓى اِخْرَاجِكُمْ اَنْ تَوَلَّوْهُمْ‌ۚ وَمَنْ يَّتَوَلَّهُمْ فَاُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ‏(9)

INNAMAA YANHAAKOMUL LAAHO A’NIL LAZEENA QAATALOOKUM FID DEENE WA AKHRAJOOKUM MIN DEYAAREKUM WA ZAAHAROO A’LAA IKHRAAJEKUM AN TAWALLAWHUM, WA MAN-Y YATAWALLAHUM FA-OOLAAA-EKA HOMUZ ZAALEMOON.

Allah forbids you only in regard to those who made war against you on account of religion and expelled you from your homes and supported [the polytheists of Makkah] in your expulsion, that you make friends with them, and whoever makes friends with them—it is they who are the wrongdoers.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اِذَا جَآءَكُمُ الْمُؤْمِنٰتُ مُهٰجِرٰتٍ فَامْتَحِنُوْهُنَّ‌ ؕ اَللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِاِيْمَانِهِنَّ‌ ۚ فَاِنْ عَلِمْتُمُوْهُنَّ مُؤْمِنٰتٍ فَلَا تَرْجِعُوْهُنَّ اِلَى الْكُفَّارِ‌ ؕ لَا هُنَّ حِلٌّ لَّهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحِلُّوْنَ لَهُنَّ‌ ۚ وَاٰ تُوْهُمْ مَّاۤ اَنْفَقُوْا‌ ؕ وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ اَنْ تَنْكِحُوْهُنَّ اِذَاۤ اٰ تَيْتُمُوْهُنَّ اُجُوْرَهُنَّ‌ ؕ وَلَا تُمْسِكُوْا بِعِصَمِ الْكَوَافِرِ وَسْئَلُوْا مَاۤ اَنْفَقْتُمْ وَلْيَسْئَلُوْا مَاۤ اَنْفَقُوْا‌ ؕ ذٰ لِكُمْ حُكْمُ اللّٰهِ‌ ؕ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ‌ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ‏(10)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO EZAA JAAA-AKOMUL MOAMENAATO MOHAAJERAATIN FAMTAHENOOHUN, ALLAAHO A-A’LAMO BE-EEMAANEHIN, FA-IN A’LIMTOMOOHUNNA MOAMENAATIN FALAA TARJE-O’OHUNNA ELAL KUFFAAR, LAA HUNNA HILLUL LAHUM WA LAA HUM YAHILLOONA LAHUN, WA AATOOHUM MAA ANFAQOO, WA LAA JONAAHA A’LAYKUM AN TANKEHOOHUNNA EZAA AATAYTOMOOHUNNA OJOORAHUN, WA LAA TUMSEKOO BE-E’SAMIL KAWAAFERE WAS ALOO MAA ANFAQTUM WAL YAS-ALOO MAA ANFAQOO, ZAALEKUM HUKMUL LAAH, YAHKOMO BAYNAKUM, WAL LAAHO A’LEEMUN HAKEEM.

O you who have faith! When faithful women come to you as immigrants, test them. Allah knows best [the state of] their faith. Then, if you ascertain them to be [genuinely] faithful women, do not send them back to the faithless. They are not lawful for them, nor are they lawful for them, but give them what [dowry] they have spent [for them]. There is no sin upon you in marrying them when you have given them their dowries. Do not hold on to [conjugal] ties with faithless women. Demand [from the infidels] what you have spent [as dowries], and let the faithless demand [from you] what they have spent [as dowries]. That is Allah’s judgment; He judges between you, and Allah is all-knowing, all-wise.

وَاِنْ فَاتَكُمْ شَىْءٌ مِّنْ اَزْوَاجِكُمْ اِلَى الْكُفَّارِ فَعَاقَبْتُمْ فَاٰ تُوا الَّذِيْنَ ذَهَبَتْ اَزْوَاجُهُمْ مِّثْلَ مَاۤ اَنْفَقُوْا‌ ؕ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ الَّذِىْۤ اَنْتُمْ بِهٖ مُؤْمِنُوْنَ‏(11)

WA IN FAATAKUM SHAY-UM MIN AZWAAJEKUM ELAL KUFFAARE FA-A’AQABTUM FA-AATUL LAZEENA ZAHABAT AZWAAJOHUM MISLA MAA ANFAQOO, WAT TAQUL LAAHAL LAZEE ANTUM BEHI MOAMENOON.

If anything [of the dowries] pertaining to your wives is not reclaimed from the faithless and then you have your turn, then give to those whose wives have left the like of what they have spent, and be wary of Allah in whom you have faith.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّبِىُّ اِذَا جَآءَكَ الْمُؤْمِنٰتُ يُبَايِعْنَكَ عَلٰٓى اَنْ لَّا يُشْرِكْنَ بِاللّٰهِ شَيْئًا وَّلَا يَسْرِقْنَ وَلَا يَزْنِيْنَ وَلَا يَقْتُلْنَ اَوْلَادَهُنَّ وَلَا يَاْتِيْنَ بِبُهْتَانٍ يَّفْتَرِيْنَهٗ بَيْنَ اَيْدِيْهِنَّ وَاَرْجُلِهِنَّ وَلَا يَعْصِيْنَكَ فِىْ مَعْرُوْفٍ‌ فَبَايِعْهُنَّ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُنَّ اللّٰهَ‌ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ‏(12)

YAA AYYOHAN NABIYYO EZAA JAAA-AKAL MOAMENAATO YOBAAYE’NAKA A’LAA AL LAA YUSHRIKNA BIL-LAAHE SHAY-ANW WA LAA YASRIQNA WA LAA YAZNEENA WA LAA YAQTULNA AWLAADAHUNNA WA LAA YAATEENA BE-BOHTAANIN-Y YAFTAREENAHU BAYNA AYDEEHINNA WA ARJOLEHINNA WA LAA YA’SEENAKA FEE MA’ROOFIN FA-BAAYE’HUNNA WAS TAGHFIR LAHUNNAL LAAH, INNAL LAAHA GHAFOORUR RAHEEM.

O Prophet! If faithful women come to you, to take the oath of allegiance to you, [pledging] that they shall not ascribe any partners to Allah, that they shall not steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill their children, nor utter any slander that they may have intentionally fabricated, nor disobey you in what is right, then accept their allegiance, and plead for them to Allah for forgiveness. Indeed Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَتَوَلَّوْا قَوْمًا غَضِبَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ قَدْ يَئِسُوْا مِنَ الْاٰخِرَةِ كَمَا يَئِسَ الْكُفَّارُ مِنْ اَصْحٰبِ الْقُبُوْرِ‏(13)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO LAA TATAWALLAW QAWMAN GHAZEBAL LAAHO A’LAYHIM QAD YA-ESOO MENAL AAKHERATE KAMAA YA-ESAL KUFFAARO MIN ASHAABIL QOBOOR.

O you who have faith! Do not befriend a people at whom Allah is wrathful: they have despaired of the Hereafter, just as the faithless have despaired of the occupants of the graves.

61: As-Saff الصف

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

سَبَّحَ لِلّٰهِ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِ‌ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ‏(1)

SABBAHA LILLAAHE MAA FIS SAMAAWAATE WA MAA FIL ARZ, WA HOWAL A’ZEEZUL HAKEEM.

Whatever there is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah, and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لِمَ تَقُوْلُوْنَ مَا لَا تَفْعَلُوْنَ‏(2)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO LEMA TAQOOLOONA MAA LAA TAF-A’LOON.

O you who have faith! Why do you say what you do not do?

كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ اَنْ تَقُوْلُوْا مَا لَا تَفْعَلُوْنَ‏(3)

KABORA MAQTAN I’NDAL LAAHE AN TAQOOLOO MAA LAA TAF-A’LOON.

It is greatly outrageous to Allah that you should say what you do not do.

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُحِبُّ الَّذِيْنَ يُقَاتِلُوْنَ فِىْ سَبِيْلِهٖ صَفًّا كَاَنَّهُمْ بُنْيَانٌ مَّرْصُوْصٌ‏(4)

INNAL LAAHA YOHIBBUL LAZEENA YOQAATELOONA FEE SABEELEHI SAFFAN KA-ANNAHUM BUNYAANUM MARSOOS.

Indeed Allah loves those who fight in His way in ranks, as if they were a compact structure.

وَاِذْ قَالَ مُوْسٰى لِقَوْمِهٖ يٰقَوْمِ لِمَ تُؤْذُوْنَنِىْ وَقَد تَّعْلَمُوْنَ اَنِّىْ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ اِلَيْكُمْؕ فَلَمَّا زَاغُوْۤا اَزَاغَ اللّٰهُ قُلُوْبَهُمْ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الْفٰسِقِيْنَ‏(5)

WA IZ QAALA MOOSAA LE-QAWMEHI YAA QAWME LEMA TOAZOONANEE WA QAT TA’LAMOONA ANNEE RASOOLUL LAAHE ELAYKUM, FALAMMAA ZAAGHOO AZAAGHAL LAAHO QOLOOBAHUM, WAL LAAHO LAA YAHDIL QAWMAL FAASEQEEN.

When Moses said to his people, ‘O my people! Why do you torment me, when you certainly know that I am Allah’s apostle to you?’ So when they swerved [from the right path], Allah made their hearts swerve, and Allah does not guide the transgressing lot.

وَاِذْ قَالَ عِيْسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ يٰبَنِىْۤ اِسْرَآءِيْلَ اِنِّىْ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ اِلَيْكُمْ مُّصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ التَّوْرٰٮةِ وَمُبَشِّرًۢا بِرَسُوْلٍ يَّاْتِىْ مِنْۢ بَعْدِى اسْمُهٗۤ اَحْمَدُ‌ؕ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنٰتِ قَالُوْا هٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ‏(6)

WA IZ QAALA E’ESAB NO MARYAMA YAA BANEE ISRAAA-EELA INNEE RASOOLUL LAAHE ELAYKUM MOSADDEQAL LEMAA BAYNA YADAYYA MENAT TAWRAATE WA MOBASH-SHERAM BE-RASOOLIN-Y YAATEE MIM BA’DIS MOHU AHMAD, FALAMMAA JAAA-AHUM BIL-BAYYENAATE QAALOO HAAZAA SEHRUM MOBEEN.

And when Jesus son of Mary said, ‘O Children of Israel! Indeed I am the apostle of Allah to you, to confirm what is before me of the Torah, and to give the good news of an apostle who will come after me, whose name is Ahmad.’ But when he brought them manifest proofs, they said, ‘This is plain magic.’

وَمَنْ اَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرٰى عَلَى اللّٰهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُوَ يُدْعٰٓى اِلَى الْاِسْلَامِ‌ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ‏(7)

WA MAN AZLAMO MIMMANIF TARAA A’LAL LAAHIL KAZEBA WA HOWA YUD-A’A ELAL ISLAAM, WAL LAAHO LAA YAHDIL QAWMAZ ZAALEMEEN.

Who is a greater wrongdoer than him who fabricates falsehoods against Allah, while he is being summoned to Islam? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.

يُرِيْدُوْنَ لِيُطْفِئُوْا نُوْرَ اللّٰهِ بِاَ فْوَاهِهِمْ وَاللّٰهُ مُتِمُّ نُوْرِهٖ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكٰفِرُوْنَ‏(8)

YOREEDOONA LE-YUTFE-OO NOORAL LAAHE BE-AFWAAHEHIM WAL LAAHO MOTIMMO NOOREHI WA LAW KAREHAL KAAFEROON.

They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light though the faithless should be averse.

هُوَ الَّذِىْۤ اَرْسَلَ رَسُوْلَهٗ بِالْهُدٰى وَدِيْنِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهٗ عَلَى الدِّيْنِ كُلِّهٖ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُوْنَ‏(9)

HOWAL LAZEE ARSALA RASOOLAHU BIL-HODAA WA DEENIL HAQQE LE-YUZHERAHU A’LAD DEENE KULLEHI WA LAW KAREHAL MUSHREKOON.

It is He who has sent His Apostle with guidance and the true religion that He may make it prevail over all religions though the polytheists should be averse.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا هَلْ اَدُلُّكُمْ عَلٰى تِجَارَةٍ تُنْجِيْكُمْ مِّنْ عَذَابٍ اَلِيْمٍ‏(10)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO HAL ADULLOKUM A’LAA TEJAARATIN TUNJEEKUM MIN A’ZAABIN ALEEM.

O you who have faith! Shall I show you a deal that will deliver you from a painful punishment?

تُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ وَتُجَاهِدُوْنَ فِىْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ بِاَمْوَالِكُمْ وَاَنْفُسِكُمْ‌ؕ ذٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَۙ‏(11)

TOAMENOONA BIL-LAAHE WA RASOOLEHI WA TOJAAHEDOONA FEE SABEELIL LAAHE BE-AMWAALEKUM WA ANFOSEKUM, ZAALEKUM KHAYRUL LAKUM IN KUNTUM TA’LAMOON.

Have faith in Allah and His Apostle, and wage jihad in the way of Allah with your persons and possessions. That is better for you, should you know.

يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوْبَكُمْ وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِىْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ وَمَسٰكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِىْ جَنّٰتِ عَدْنٍ‌ؕ ذٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيْمُۙ‏(12)

YAGHFIR LAKUM ZONOOBAKUM WA YUDKHILKUM JANNAATIN TAJREE MIN TAHTEHAL ANHAARO WA MASAAKENA TAYYEBATAN FEE JANNAATE A’DN, ZAALEKAL FAWZUL A’ZEEM.

He will forgive your sins and admit you into gardens with streams running in them, and into good dwellings in the Gardens of Eden; that is the great success.

وَاُخْرٰى تُحِبُّوْنَهَا‌ ؕ نَصْرٌ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَفَتْحٌ قَرِيْبٌ‌ ؕ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ‏(13)

WA UKHRAA TOHIBBOONAHAA, NASRUM MENAL LAAHE WA FATHUN QAREEB, WA BASH-SHERIL MOAMENEEN.

And other [blessings] you cherish: help from Allah and a victory near at hand, and give good news to the faithful.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا كُوْنُوْۤا اَنْصَارَ اللّٰهِ كَمَا قَالَ عِيْسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ لِلْحَوٰارِيّٖنَ مَنْ اَنْصَارِىْۤ اِلَى اللّٰهِ‌ؕ قَالَ الْحَوٰرِيُّوْنَ نَحْنُ اَنْصَارُ اللّٰهِ‌ فَاٰمَنَتْ طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْۢ بَنِىْۤ اِسْرَآءِيْلَ وَكَفَرَتْ طَّآئِفَةٌ ۚ فَاَيَّدْنَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا عَلٰى عَدُوِّهِمْ فَاَصْبَحُوْا ظٰهِرِيْنَ‏(14)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO KOONOO ANSAARAL LAAHE KAMAA QAALA E’ESAB NO MARYAMA LIL-HAWAARIYYEENA MAN ANSAAREE ELAL LAAH, QAALAL HAWAARIYYOONA NAHNO ANSAARUL LAAHE FA-AAMANAT TAAA-EFATUM MIM BANEE ISRAAA-EELA WA KAFARAT TAAA-EFAH, FA-AYYADNAL LAZEENA AAMANOO A’LAA A’DUWWEHIM FA-ASBAHOO ZAAHEREEN.

O you who have faith! Be Allah’s helpers, just as Jesus son of Mary said to his disciples, ‘Who will be my helpers for Allah’s sake?’ The Disciples said, ‘We will be Allah’s helpers!’ So a group of the Children of Israel believed, and a group disbelieved. Then We strengthened the faithful against their enemies, and they came to prevail [over them].

62: Al-Jumu'ah الجمعة

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

يُسَبِّحُ لِلّٰهِ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوْسِ الْعَزِيْزِ الْحَكِيْمِ‏(1)

YOSABBEHO LILLAAHE MAA FIS SAMAAWAATE WA MAA FIL ARZIL MALEKIL QUDDOOSIL A’ZEEZIL HAKEEM.

Whatever there is in the heavens and in the earth glorifies Allah, the Sovereign, the All-holy, the All-mighty, the All-wise.

هُوَ الَّذِىْ بَعَثَ فِى الْاُمِّيّٖنَ رَسُوْلًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُوْا عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتِهٖ وَيُزَكِّيْهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتٰبَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَاِنْ كَانُوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ لَفِىْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍۙ‏(2)

HOWAL LAZEE BA-A’SA FIL UMMIYYEENA RASOOLAM MINHUM YATLOO A’LAYHIM AAYAATEHI WA YOZAKKEEHIM WA YO-A’LLEMOHOMUL KETAABA WAL HIKMATA, WA IN KAANOO MIN QABLO LAFEE ZALAALIM MOBEEN.

It is He who sent to the unlettered [people] an apostle from among themselves, to recite to them His signs, to purify them, and to teach them the Book and wisdom, and earlier they had indeed been in manifest error.

وَّاٰخَرِيْنَ مِنْهُمْ لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوْا بِهِمْ‌ؕ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ‏(3)

WA AAKHAREENA MINHUM LAMMAA YALHAQOO BEHIM, WA HOWAL A’ZEEZUL HAKEEM.

And to others from among them [as well] who have not yet joined them. And He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.

ذٰ لِكَ فَضْلُ اللّٰهِ يُؤْتِيْهِ مَنْ يَّشَآءُ‌ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيْمِ‏(4)

ZAALEKA FAZLUL LAAHE YOA-TEEHE MANY YASHAAA-O, WAL LAAHO ZUL FAZLIL A’ZEEM.

That is Allah’s grace, which He grants to whomever He wishes, and Allah is dispenser of a great grace.

مَثَلُ الَّذِيْنَ حُمِّلُوا التَّوْرٰٮةَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَحْمِلُوْهَا كَمَثَلِ الْحِمَارِ يَحْمِلُ اَسْفَارًا‌ ؕ بِئْسَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ‏(5)

MASALUL LAZEENA HUMMELUT TAWRAATA SUMMA LAM YAHMELOOHAA KAMASALIL HEMAARE YAHMELO ASFAARAA, BEA-SA MASALUL QAWMIL LAZEENA KAZZABOO BE AAYAATIL LAAH, WAL LAAHO LAA YAHDIL QAWMAZ ZAALEMEEN.

The example of those who were charged with the Torah, then failed to carry it, is that of an ass carrying books. Evil is the example of the people who deny Allah’s signs, and Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.

قُلْ يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ هَادُوْۤا اِنْ زَعَمْتُمْ اَنَّكُمْ اَوْلِيَآءُ لِلّٰهِ مِنْ دُوْنِ النَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا الْمَوْتَ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ‏(6)

QUL YAA-AYYOHAL LAZEENA HAADOO IN ZA-A’MTUM ANNAKUM ANNAKUM AWLEYAAA-O LILLAAHE MIN DOONIN NAASE FATAMANNAWUL MAWTA IN KUNTUM SAADEQEEN.

Say, ‘O Jews! If you claim that you are Allah’s favourites, to the exclusion of other people, then long for death, should you be truthful.’

وَلَا يَتَمَنَّوْنَهٗۤ اَبَدًۢا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ اَيْدِيْهِمْ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌۢ بِالظّٰلِمِيْنَ‏(7)

WA LAA YATAMANNAW-NAHU ABADAM BEMAA QADDAMAT AYDEEHIM, WAL LAAHO A’LEEMUM BIZ-ZAALEMEEN.

Yet they will never long for it, because of what their hands have sent ahead, and Allah knows best the wrongdoers.

قُلْ اِنَّ الْمَوْتَ الَّذِىْ تَفِرُّوْنَ مِنْهُ فَاِنَّهٗ مُلٰقِيْكُمْ‌ ثُمَّ تُرَدُّوْنَ اِلٰى عٰلِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ‏(8)

QUL INNAL MAWTAL LAZEE TAFIRROONA MINHO FA-INNAHU MOLAAQEEKUM SUMMA TORADDOONA ELAA A’ALEMIL GHAYBE WASH-SHAHAADATE FAYONABBEOKUM BEMAA KUNTUM TA’MALOON.

Say, ‘The death that you flee will indeed encounter you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the sensible and the Unseen, and He will inform you about what you used to do.’

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اِذَا نُوْدِىَ لِلصَّلٰوةِ مِنْ يَّوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَاسْعَوْا اِلٰى ذِكْرِ اللّٰهِ وَذَرُوا الْبَيْعَ‌ ؕ ذٰ لِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ‏(9)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO EZAA NOODEYA LIS SALAATE MINY YAWMIL JOMO-A’TE FAS-A’W ELAA ZIKRIL LAAHE WA ZARUL BAY’, ZAALEKUM KHAYRUL LAKUM IN KUNTUM TA’LAMOON.

O you who have faith! When the call is made for prayer on Friday, hurry toward the remembrance of Allah, and leave all business. That is better for you, should you know.

فَاِذَا قُضِيَتِ الصَّلٰوةُ فَانْتَشِرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ وَابْتَغُوْا مِنْ فَضْلِ اللّٰهِ وَاذْكُرُوا اللّٰهَ كَثِيْرًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُوْنَ‏(10)

FA-EZAA QOZEYATIS SALAATO FANTASHEROO FIL ARZE WABTAGHOO MIN FAZLIL LAAHE WAZKORUL LAAHA KASEERAL LA-A’LLAKUM TUFLEHOON.

And when the prayer is finished disperse through the land and seek Allah’s grace, and remember Allah much so that you may be felicitous.

وَاِذَا رَاَوْا تِجَارَةً اَوْ لَهْوَا۟ اۨنْفَضُّوْۤا اِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوْكَ قَآئِمًا‌ ؕ قُلْ مَا عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ خَيْرٌ مِّنَ اللَّهْوِ وَمِنَ التِّجَارَةِ‌ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ خَيْرُ الرّٰزِقِيْنَ‏(11)

WA EZAA RA-AW TEJAARATAN AW LAHWAA NINFAZZOO ELAYHAA WA TARAKOOKA QAAA-EMAA, QUL MAA I’NDAL LAAHE KHAYRUM MENAL LAHWE WA MENAT TEJAARAH, WAL LAAHO KHAYRUR RAAZEQEEN.

When they sight a deal or a diversion, they scatter off towards it and leave you standing! Say, ‘What is with Allah is better than diversion and dealing, and Allah is the best of providers.’

63: Al-Munafiqun المنافقون

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

اِذَا جَآءَكَ الْمُنٰفِقُوْنَ قَالُوْا نَشْهَدُ اِنَّكَ لَرَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ ۘ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ اِنَّكَ لَرَسُوْلُهٗ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَشْهَدُ اِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ لَكٰذِبُوْنَ ۚ‏(1)

EZAA JAA-AKAL MONAAFEQOONA QAALOO NASH-HADO INNAKA LA-RASOOLUL LAAH, WAL LAAHO YA’LAMO INNAKA LA-RASOOLOH, WAL LAAHO YASH-HADO INNAL MONAAFEQEENA LA-KAAZEBOON.

When the hypocrites come to you they say, ‘We bear witness that you are indeed the apostle of Allah.’ Allah knows that you are indeed His Apostle, and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are indeed liars.

اِتَّخَذُوْۤا اَيْمَانَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوْا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِؕ اِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ‏(2)

ITTAKHAZOO AYMAANAHUM JUNNATAN FA-SADDU A’N SABEELIL LAAH, INNAHUM SAAA-A MAA KAANU YA’MALOON.

They make a shield of their oaths, and bar from the way of Allah. Evil indeed is what they used to do.

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ اٰمَنُوْا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوْا فَطُبِعَ عَلٰى قُلُوْبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُوْنَ‏(3)

ZAALEKA BE-ANNAHUM AAMANOO SUMMA KAFAROO FA-TOBE-A’ A’LAA QOLOOBEHIM FAHUM LAA YAFQAHOON.

That is because they believed and then disbelieved, so their hearts were sealed. Hence, they do not understand.

وَاِذَا رَاَيْتَهُمْ تُعْجِبُكَ اَجْسَامُهُمْ ؕ وَاِنْ يَّقُوْلُوْا تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِهِمْ ؕ كَاَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌ مُّسَنَّدَةٌ ؕ يَحْسَبُوْنَ كُلَّ صَيْحَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْ ؕ هُمُ الْعَدُوُّ فَاحْذَرْهُمْ ؕ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللّٰهُ اَنّٰى يُؤْفَكُوْنَ‏(4)

WA EZAA RA-AYTAHUM TO’JEBOKA AJSAAMOHUM, WA INY YAQOOLOO TAS-MA’ LE-QAWLEHIM, KA-ANNAHUM KHOSHOBUM MOSANNADAH, YAHSABOONA KULLA SAYHATIN A’LAYHIM, HOMUL A’DUWWO FAHZARHUM, QAATALAHOMUL LAAHO, ANNAA YOAFAKOON.

When you see them, their bodies impress you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. Yet they are like dry logs set reclining [against a wall]. They suppose every cry is directed against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah assail them, where do they stray?!

وَاِذَا قِيْلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ لَوَّوْا رُءُوْسَهُمْ وَرَاَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّوْنَ وَهُمْ مُّسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ‏(5)

WA EZAA QEELA LAHUM TA-A’ALAW YASTAGHFIR LAHUM RASOOLAL LAAHE LAWWAW RO-OOSAHUM WA RA-AYTAHUM YASUDDOONA WA HUM MUSTAKBEROON.

When they are told, ‘Come, that Allah’s Apostle may plead for forgiveness for you,’ they twist their heads, and you see them turn away disdainfully.

سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ اَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ اَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْؕ لَنْ يَّغْفِرَ اللّٰهُ لَهُمْؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الْفٰسِقِيْنَ‏(6)

SAWAAAUN A’LAYHIM ASTAGHFARTA LAHUM AM LAM TASTAGHFIR LAHUM, LANY YAGHFERAL LAAHO LAHUM, INNAL LAAHA LAA YAHDIL QAWMAL FAASEQEEN.

It is the same for them whether you plead for forgiveness for them, or do not plead for forgiveness for them: Allah will never forgive them. Indeed Allah does not guide the transgressing lot.

هُمُ الَّذِيْنَ يَقُوْلُوْنَ لَا تُنْفِقُوْا عَلٰى مَنْ عِنْدَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ حَتّٰى يَنْفَضُّوْاؕ وَلِلّٰهِ خَزَآئِنُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَلٰكِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ لَا يَفْقَهُوْنَ‏(7)

HOMUL LAZEENA YAQOOLOONA LAA TUNFEQOO A’LAA MAN I’NDA RASOOLIL LAAHE HATTAA YANFAZZOO, WA LILLAAHE KHAZAAENUS SAMAAWAATE WAL ARZE WA LAAKINNAL MONAAFEQEENA LAA YAFQAHOON.

They are the ones who say, ‘Do not spend on those who are with the Apostle of Allah until they scatter off [from around him].’ Yet to Allah belong the treasuries of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.

يَقُوْلُوْنَ لَئِنْ رَّجَعْنَاۤ اِلَى الْمَدِيْنَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْاَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْاَذَلَّؕ وَلِلّٰهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُوْلِهٖ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَلٰكِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ‏(8)

YAQOOLOONA LA-IR RAJA’NAA ELAL MADEENATE LAYUKHREJANNAL A-A’ZZO MINHAL AZAL, WA LILLAAHIL I’ZZATO WA LERASOOLEHI WA LIL-MOAMENEENA WA LAAKINNAL MONAAFEQEENA LAA YA’LAMOON.

They say, ‘When we return to the city, the mighty will surely expel the weak from it.’ Yet all might belongs to Allah and His Apostle and the faithful, but the hypocrites do not know.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تُلْهِكُمْ اَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَاۤ اَوْلَادُكُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللّٰهِۚ وَمَنْ يَّفْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ فَاُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْخٰسِرُوْنَ‏(9)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO LAA TULHEKUM AMWAALOKUM WA LAA AWLAADOKUM A’N ZIKRIL LAAHE, WA MANY YAF-A’L ZAALEKA FA-OOLAAEKA HOMUL KHAASEROON.

O you who have faith! Do not let your possessions and children distract you from the remembrance of Allah, and whoever does that—it is they who are the losers.

وَاَنْفِقُوْا مِنْ مَّا رَزَقْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّاْتِىَ اَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ فَيَقُوْلَ رَبِّ لَوْلَاۤ اَخَّرْتَنِىْۤ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ قَرِيْبٍۙ فَاَصَّدَّقَ وَاَكُنْ مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ‏(10)

WA ANFEQOO MIM MAA RAZAQNAAKUM MIN QABLE ANY YAATEYA AHADAKOMUL MAWTO FA-YAQOOLA RABBE LAWLAA AKHKHARTANEE ELAA AJALIN QAREEBIN, FA-ASSADDAQA WA AKUM MENAS SAALEHEEN.

Spend out of what We have provided you before death comes to any of you, whereat he might say, ‘My Lord, why did You not respite me for a short time so that I could give charity and become one of the righteous!’

وَلَنْ يُّؤَخِّرَ اللّٰهُ نَفْسًا اِذَا جَآءَ اَجَلُهَاؕ وَاللّٰهُ خَبِيْرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ‏(11)

WA LANY YOAKHKHERAL LAAHO NAFSAN EZAA JAA-A AJALOHAA, WAL LAAHO KHABEERUM BEMAA TA’MALOON.

But Allah will never respite anyone when his time has come, and Allah is well aware of what you do.

64: At-Taghabun التغابن

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

يُسَبِّحُ لِلّٰهِ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِۚ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ‏(1)

YOSABBEHO LILLAAHE MAA FIS SAMAAWAATE WA MAA FIL ARZ, LAHUL MULKO WA LAHUL HAMD, WA HOWA A’LAA KULLE SHAY-IN QADEER.

Whatever there is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah. To Him belongs all sovereignty and to Him belongs all praise, and He has power over all things.

هُوَ الَّذِىْ خَلَقَكُمْ فَمِنْكُمْ كَافِرٌ وَّمِنْكُمْ مُّؤْمِنٌؕ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرٌ‏(2)

HOWAL LAZEE KHALAQAKUM FAMINKUM KAAFERUNW WA MINKUM MOAMEN, WAL LAAHO BEMAA TA’MALOONA BASEER.

It is He who created you. Then some of you are faithless and some of you are faithful, and Allah watches what you do.

خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَاَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْۚ وَاِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيْرُ‏(3)

KHALAQAS SAMAAWAATE WAL ARZA BIL-HAQQE WA SAWWARAKUM FA-AHSANA SOWARAKUM, WA ELAYHIL MASEER.

He created the heavens and the earth with consummate wisdom, and He formed you and perfected your forms, and toward Him is your destination.

يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّوْنَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُوْنَؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌۢ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُوْرِ‏(4)

YA’LAMO MAA FIS SAMAAWAATE WAL ARZE WA YA’LAMO MAA TOSIRROONA WA MAA TO’LENOON, WAL LAAHO A’LEEMUM BE-ZAATIS SODOOR.

He knows whatever there is in the heavens and the earth, and He knows whatever you hide and whatever you disclose, and Allah knows best what is in your breasts.

اَلَمْ يَاْتِكُمْ نَبَؤُا الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ فَذَاقُوْا وَبَالَ اَمْرِهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ‏(5)

ALAM YAATEKUM NABA-UL LAZEENA KAFAROO MIN QABL, FA-ZAAQOO WABAALA AMREHIM WA LAHUM A’ZAABUN ALEEM.

Has there not come to you the account of those who were faithless before? They tasted the evil consequence of their conduct, and there is a painful punishment for them.

ذٰ لِكَ بِاَنَّهٗ كَانَتْ تَّاْتِيْهِمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنٰتِ فَقَالُوْۤا اَبَشَرٌ يَّهْدُوْنَنَا فَكَفَرُوْا وَتَوَلَّوْا وَّاسْتَغْنَى اللّٰهُ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ غَنِىٌّ حَمِيْدٌ‏(6)

ZAALEKA BE-ANNAHU KAANAT TAATEEHIM ROSOLOHUM BIL-BAYYENAATE FA-QAALOO ABASHARUN-Y YAHDOONANAA, FA-KAFAROO WA TAWALLAW WAS TAGHNAL LAAH, WAL LAAHO GHANIYYUN HAMEED.

That was because their apostles would bring them manifest proofs, but they said, ‘Will humans be our guides?!’ So they disbelieved and turned away, and Allah had no need [of their faith] and Allah is all-sufficient, all-laudable.

زَعَمَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْۤا اَنْ لَّنْ يُّبْعَثُوْا ؕ قُلْ بَلٰى وَرَبِّىْ لَتُبْعَثُنَّ ثُمَّ لَتُنَبَّؤُنَّ بِمَا عَمِلْتُمْؕ وَذٰ لِكَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ يَسِيْرٌ‏(7)

ZA-A’MAL LAZEENA KAFAROO AL LAN-Y YUB-A’SOO, QUL BALAA WA RABBEE LATUB-A’SUNNA SUMMA LATONABBA-UNNA BEMAA A’MILTUM, WA ZAALEKA A’LAL LAAHE YASEER.

The faithless claim that they will not be resurrected. Say, ‘Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did, and that is easy for Allah.’

فَاٰمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ وَالنُّوْرِ الَّذِىْۤ اَنْزَلْنَاؕ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرٌ‏(8)

FA-AAMENOO BIL-LAAHE WA RASOOLEHI WAN NOORIL LAZEE ANZALNAA, WAL LAAHO BEMAA TA’MALOONA KHABEER.

So have faith in Allah and His Apostle and the light, which We have sent down, and Allah is well aware of what you do.

يَوْمَ يَجْمَعُكُمْ لِيَوْمِ الْجَمْعِ ذٰ لِكَ يَوْمُ التَّغَابُنِ ؕ وَمَنْ يُّؤْمِنْۢ بِاللّٰهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا يُّكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّاٰتِهٖ وَيُدْخِلْهُ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِىْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَاۤ اَبَدًا ؕ ذٰ لِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِیْمُ‏(9)

YAWMA YAJMA-O’KUM LE-YAWMIL JAM-E’ ZAALEKA YAWMUT TAGHAABON, WA MAN-Y YOAMIM BIL-LAAHE WA YA’MAL SAALEHAN-Y YOKAFFIR A’NHO SAYYE-AATEHI WA YUDKHILHO JANNAATIN TAJREE MIN TAHTEHAL ANHAARO KHAALEDEENA FEEHAA ABADAA, ZAALEKAL FAWZUL A’ZEEM.

When He will you bring you together for the Day of Gathering, it will be a day of privation [and regret]. As for those who have faith in Allah and act righteously, He shall absolve them of their misdeeds and admit them into gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them forever. That is the great success.

وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَكَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَاۤ اُولٰٓئِكَ اَصْحٰبُ النَّارِ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا ؕ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيْرُ‏(10)

WAL LAZEENA KAFAROO WA KAZZABOO BE-AAYAATENAA OOLAAA-EKA ASHAABUN NAARE KHAALEDEENA FEEHAA, WA BEASAL MASEER.

But as for those who are faithless and deny Our signs, they will be the inmates of the Fire, to remain in it [forever], and it is an evil destination.

مَاۤ اَصَابَ مِنْ مُّصِيْبَةٍ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِ اللّٰهِؕ وَمَنْ يُّؤْمِنْۢ بِاللّٰهِ يَهْدِ قَلْبَهٗؕ وَاللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ‏(11)

MAA ASAABA MIM MOSEEBATIN ILLAA BE-IZNIL LAAH, WA MAN-Y YOAMIM BIL-LAAHE YAHDE QALBAH, WAL LAAHO BE-KULLE SHAY-IN A’LEEM.

No affliction visits [anyone] except by Allah’s leave. Whoever has faith in Allah, He guides his heart, and Allah has knowledge of all things.

وَاَطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوا الرَّسُوْلَۚ فَاِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَاِنَّمَا عَلٰى رَسُوْلِنَا الْبَلٰغُ الْمُبِيْنُ‏(12)

WA ATEE-U’L LAAHA WA ATEE-U’R RASOOL, FA-IN TAWALLAYTUM FA-INNAMAA A’LAA RASOOLENAL BALAAGHUL MOBEEN.

Obey Allah and obey the Apostle; but if you turn away, then Our Apostle’s duty is only to communicate in clear terms.

اَللّٰهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَؕ وَعَلَى اللّٰهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ‏(13)

ALLAAHO LAA ELAAHA ILLAA HOO, WA A’LAL LAAHE FALYATAWAKKALIL MOAMENOON.

Allah—there is no god except Him—in Allah let all the faithful put their trust.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اِنَّ مِنْ اَزْوَاجِكُمْ وَاَوْلَادِكُمْ عَدُوًّا لَّكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوْهُمْۚ وَاِنْ تَعْفُوْا وَتَصْفَحُوْا وَتَغْفِرُوْا فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ‏(14)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO INNA MIN AZWAAJEKUM WA AWLAADEKUM A’DUWWAL LAKUM FAHZAROOHUM, WA IN TA’FOO WA TASFAHOO WA TAGHFEROO FA-INNAL LAAHA GHAFOORUR RAHEEM.

O you who have faith! Indeed, you have enemies among your spouses and children; so beware of them. Yet if you excuse, forbear, and forgive, then Allah is indeed all-forgiving, all-merciful.

اِنَّمَاۤ اَمْوَالُكُمْ وَاَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ عِنْدَهٗۤ اَجْرٌ عَظِيْمٌ‏(15)

INNAMAA AMWAALOKUM WA AWLAADOKUM FITNAH, WAL LAAHO I’NDAHU AJRUN A’ZEEM.

Rather, your possessions, and children are a test, and Allah—with Him is a great reward!

فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ وَاسْمَعُوْا وَاَطِيْعُوْا وَاَنْفِقُوْا خَيْرًا لِّاَنْفُسِكُمْؕ وَمَنْ يُّوْقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهٖ فَاُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ‏(16)

FAT-TAQUL LAAHA MAS TATA’TUM WAS MA-O’O WA ATEE-O’O WA ANFEQOO KHAYRAL LE-ANFOSEKUM, WA MAN-Y YOOQA SHUHHA NAFSEHI FA-OOLAAA-EKA HOMUL MUFLEHOON.

So be wary of Allah, as much as you can, and listen and obey, and spend [in the way of Allah]; that is better for yourselves. Those who are saved from their own greed—it is they who are the felicitous.

اِنْ تُقْرِضُوا اللّٰهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُّضٰعِفْهُ لَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْؕ وَاللّٰهُ شَكُوْرٌ حَلِيْمٌۙ‏(17)

IN TUQREZUL LAAHA QARZAN HASANAN-Y YOZAA-I’FHO LAKUM WA YAGHFIR LAKUM, WAL LAAHO SHAKOORUN HALEEM.

If you lend Allah a good loan, He shall multiply it for you and forgive you, and Allah is all-appreciative, all-forbearing,

عٰلِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ‏(18)

A’ALEMUL GHAYBE WASH SHAHAADATIL A’ZEEZUL HAKEEM.

Knower of the sensible and the Unseen, the All-mighty, the All-wise.

65: At-Talaq الطلاق

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّبِىُّ اِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَطَلِّقُوْهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ وَاَحْصُوا الْعِدَّةَ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ رَبَّكُمْ ۚ لَا تُخْرِجُوْهُنَّ مِنْۢ بُيُوْتِهِنَّ وَلَا يَخْرُجْنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ يَّاْتِيْنَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ ؕ وَتِلْكَ حُدُوْدُ اللّٰهِ ؕ وَمَنْ يَّتَعَدَّ حُدُوْدَ اللّٰهِ فَقَدْ ظَلَمَ نَفْسَهٗ ؕ لَا تَدْرِىْ لَعَلَّ اللّٰهَ يُحْدِثُ بَعْدَ ذٰ لِكَ اَمْرًا‏(1)

YAA AYYOHAL NABIYYO EZAA TALLAQTOMUN NESAAA-A FA-TALLEQOOHUNNA LE-I’DDATEHINNA WA AHSUL I’DDAH, WAT TAQUL LAAHA RABBAKUM, LAA TUKHREJOOHUNNA MIM BOYOOTEHINNA WA LAA YAKHRUJNA ILLAA ANY YAATEENA BE-FAAHESHATIM MOBAYYENAH, WA TILKA HODOODUL LAAH, WA MANY YATA-A’DDA HODOODAL LAAHE FAQAD ZALAMA NAFSAH, LAA TADREE LA-A’LLAL LAAHA YOHDESO BA’DA ZAALEKA AMRAA.

O Prophet! When you divorce women, divorce them at [the conclusion of] their term and calculate the term, and be wary of Allah, your Lord. Do not turn them out from their homes, nor shall they go out, unless they commit a gross indecency. These are Allah’s bounds, and whoever transgresses the bounds of Allah certainly wrongs himself. You never know maybe Allah will bring off something new later on.

فَاِذَا بَلَغْنَ اَجَلَهُنَّ فَاَمْسِكُوْهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوْفٍ اَوْ فَارِقُوْهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوْفٍ وَّاَشْهِدُوْا ذَوَىْ عَدْلٍ مِّنْكُمْ وَاَقِيْمُوا الشَّهَادَةَ لِلّٰهِ ؕ ذٰ لِكُمْ يُوْعَظُ بِهٖ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِ ۙ وَمَنْ يَّتَّقِ اللّٰهَ يَجْعَلْ لَّهٗ مَخْرَجًا ۙ‏(2)

FA-EZAA BALAGHNA AJALAHUNNA FA-AMSEKOOHUNNA BE-MA’ROOFIN AW FAAREQOOHUNNA BE-MA’ROOFINW WA ASH-HEDOO ZAWAY A’DLIM MINKUM WA AQEEMUSH SHAHAADATA LILLAAH, ZAALEKUM YOO-A’ZO BEHI MAN KAANA YOAMENO BIL-LAAHE WAL YAWMIL AAKHER, WA MANY YATTAQIL LAAHA YAJ-A'L LAHU MAKHRAJANW.

Then, when they have completed their term, either retain them honourably or separate from them honourably, and take the witness of two honest men from among yourselves, and bear witness for the sake of Allah. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day is advised to [comply with] this. Whoever is wary of Allah, He shall make for him a way out [of the adversities of the world and the Hereafter]

وَّيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ ؕ وَمَنْ يَّتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّٰهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهٗ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ بَالِغُ اَمْرِهٖ ؕ قَدْ جَعَلَ اللّٰهُ لِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدْرًا‏(3)

WA YARZUQHO MIN HAYSO LAA YAHTASIB, WA MANY YATAWAKKAL A'LAL LAAHE FAHOWA HASBOH, INNAL LAAHA BAALEGHO AMREH, QAD JA-A'LAL LAAHO LEKULLE SHAY-IN QADRAA.

and provide for him from whence he does not count upon. And whoever puts his trust in Allah, He will suffice him. Indeed Allah carries through His commands. Certainly, Allah has ordained a measure [and extent] for everything.

وَالّٰٓئِْ يَئِسْنَ مِنَ الْمَحِيْضِ مِنْ نِّسَآئِكُمْ اِنِ ارْتَبْتُمْ فَعِدَّتُهُنَّ ثَلٰثَةُ اَشْهُرٍ وَّالّٰٓئِْ لَمْ يَحِضْنَ ؕ وَاُولَاتُ الْاَحْمَالِ اَجَلُهُنَّ اَنْ يَّضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ ؕ وَمَنْ يَّتَّقِ اللّٰهَ يَجْعَلْ لَّهٗ مِنْ اَمْرِهٖ یُسْرًا‏(4)

WAL LAAA-EE YA-ISNA MENAL MAHEEZE MIN NESAAA-EKUM ENIR TABTUM FA-I’DDATOHUNNA SALAASATO ASH-HORINW, WAL LAAA-EE LAM YAHIZN, WA OOLAATUL AHMAALE AJALOHUNNA ANY YA-ZA’NA HAMLAHUN, WA MANY YATTAQIL LAAHA YAJ-A’L LAHU MIN AMREHI YUSRAA.

As for those of your wives who have ceased having menses—[or] if you have any doubts [concerning its cause, whether it’s is age or something else]—their term [of waiting] and of those who have not yet had menses, shall be three months. As for those who are pregnant, their term shall be until they deliver. And whoever is wary of Allah, He shall grant him ease in his affairs.

ذٰ لِكَ اَمْرُ اللّٰهِ اَنْزَلَهٗۤ اِلَيْكُمْ ؕ وَمَنْ يَّتَّقِ اللّٰهَ يُكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّاٰتِهٖ وَيُعْظِمْ لَهٗۤ اَجْرًا‏(5)

ZAALEKA AMRUL LAAHE ANZALAHU ELAYKUM, WA MANY YATTAQIL LAAHA YOKAFFIR A’NHO SAYYE-AATEHI WA YO’ZIM LAHU AJRAA.

That is Allah’s ordinance, which He has sent down to you, and whoever is wary of Allah, He shall absolve him of his misdeeds and give him a great reward.

اَسْكِنُوْهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ سَكَنْتُمْ مِّنْ وُّجْدِكُمْ وَلَا تُضَآرُّوْهُنَّ لِتُضَيِّقُوْا عَلَيْهِنَّ ؕ وَاِنْ كُنَّ اُولَاتِ حَمْلٍ فَاَنْفِقُوا عَلَيْهِنَّ حَتّٰى يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ ۚ فَاِنْ اَرْضَعْنَ لَكُمْ فَاٰ تُوْهُنَّ اُجُوْرَهُنَّ ۚ وَاْتَمِرُوْا بَيْنَكُمْ بِمَعْرُوْفٍۚ وَاِنْ تَعَاسَرْتُمْ فَسَتُرْضِعُ لَهٗۤ اُخْرٰى ؕ‏(6)

ASKENOOHUNNA MIN HAYSO SAKANTUM MINW WUJDEKUM WA LAA TOZAAAR-ROOHUNNA LE-TOZAYYEQOO A’LAYHIN, WA IN KUNNA OOLAATE HAMLIN FA-ANFEQOO A’LAYHINNA HATTAA YAZA’NA HAMLAHUN, FA-IN ARZA’NA LAKUM FA-AATOOHUNNA OJOORAHUN, WAA TAMEROO BAYNAKUM BE-MA’ROOF, WA IN TA-A’ASARTUM FASATURZE-O’ LAHU UKHRAA.

House them where you live, in accordance with your means, and do not harass them to put them in straits, and should they be pregnant, maintain them until they deliver. Then, if they suckle [the baby] for you, give them their wages and consult together honourably. But if you make things difficult for each other, then another woman will suckle [the baby] for him.

لِيُنْفِقْ ذُوْ سَعَةٍ مِّنْ سَعَتِهٖؕ وَمَنْ قُدِرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقُهٗ فَلْيُنْفِقْ مِمَّاۤ اٰتٰٮهُ اللّٰهُؕ لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللّٰهُ نَفْسًا اِلَّا مَاۤ اٰتٰٮهَاؕ سَيَجْعَلُ اللّٰهُ بَعْدَ عُسْرٍ يُّسْرًا‏(7)

LE-YUNFIQ ZOO SA-A’TIM MIN SA-A’TEH, WA MAN QODERA A’LAYHE RIZQOHU FAL-YUNFIQ MIMMAA AATAAHUL LAAH, LAA YOKALLEFUL LAAHO NAFSAN ILLAA MAA AATAAHAA, SA-YAJ-A’LUL LAAHO BA’DA U’SRINY YUSRAA.

Let the affluent man spend out of his affluence, and let he whose provision has been tightened spend out of what Allah has given him. Allah does not task any soul except [according to] what He has given it. Allah will bring about ease after hardship.

وَكَاَيِّنْ مِّنْ قَرْيَةٍ عَتَتْ عَنْ اَمْرِ رَبِّهَا وَرُسُلِهٖ فَحَاسَبْنٰهَا حِسَابًا شَدِيْدًاۙ وَّعَذَّبْنٰهَا عَذَابًا نُّكْرًا‏(8)

WA KA-AYYIM MIN QARYATIN A’TAT A’N AMRE RABBEHAA WA ROSOLEHI FA-HAASABNAAHAA HESAABAN SHADEEDANW, WA A’ZZABNAAHAA A’ZAABAN NUKRAA.

How many a town defied the command of its Lord and His apostles, then We called it to a severe account and punished it with a dire punishment.

فَذَاقَتْ وَبَالَ اَمْرِهَا وَكَانَ عَاقِبَةُ اَمْرِهَا خُسْرًا‏(9)

FA-ZAAQAT WA BAALA AMREHAA WA KAANA A’AQEBATO AMREHAA KHUSRAA.

So it tasted the evil consequences of its conduct, and the outcome of its conduct was ruin.

اَعَدَّ اللّٰهُ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيْدًا ۙ فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ يٰۤاُولِى الْاَ لْبَابِ ۖۚ ۛ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا ۛؕ قَدْ اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ اِلَيْكُمْ ذِكْرًا ۙ‏(10)

A-A’DDAL LAAHO LAHUM A’ZAABAN SHADEEDAN, FAT-TAQUL LAAHA YAA OOLIL ALBAABIL, LAZEENA AAMANOO, QAD ANZALAL LAAHO ELAYKUM ZIKRAR.

Allah has prepared for them a severe punishment. So be wary of Allah, O you who possess intellect and have faith! Allah has already sent down to you a reminder,

رَّسُوْلًا يَّتْلُوْا عَلَيْكُمْ اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ مُبَيِّنٰتٍ لِّيُخْرِجَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ مِنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَى النُّوْرِؕ وَمَنْ يُّؤْمِنْۢ بِاللّٰهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا يُّدْخِلْهُ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِىْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَاۤ اَبَدًاؕ قَدْ اَحْسَنَ اللّٰهُ لَهٗ رِزْقًا‏(11)

RASOOLANY YATLOO A’LAYKUM AAYAATIL LAAHE MOBAYYENAATIL LE-YUKHREJAL LAZEENA AAMANOO WA A’MELUS SAALEHAATE MENAZ ZOLOMAATE ELAN NOOR, WA MANY YOAMIM BILLAAHE WA YA’MAL SAALEHANY YUDKHILHO JANNAATIN TAJREE MIN TAHTEHAL ANHAARO KHAALEDEENA FEEHAA ABADAA, QAD AHSANAL LAAHO LAHU RIZQAA.

an apostle reciting to you the manifest signs of Allah that He may bring out those who have faith and do righteous deeds from darkness into light. And whoever has faith in Allah and does righteous deeds, He shall admit him into gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them forever. Allah has certainly granted him an excellent provision.

اَللّٰهُ الَّذِىْ خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمٰوٰتٍ وَّمِنَ الْاَرْضِ مِثْلَهُنَّ ؕ يَتَنَزَّلُ الْاَمْرُ بَيْنَهُنَّ لِتَعْلَمُوْۤا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ ۙ وَّاَنَّ اللّٰهَ قَدْ اَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًا‏(12)

ALLAAHUL LAZEE KHALAQA SAB-A’ SAMAAWAATINW WA MENAL ARZE MISLAHUN, YATANAZZALUL AMRO BAYNAHUNNA LE-TA’LAMOO ANNAL LAAHA QAD AHAATA BEKULLE SHAY-IN I’LMAA.

It is Allah who has created seven heavens, and of the earth [a number] similar to them. The command gradually descends through them, that you may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah comprehends all things in knowledge.

66: At-Tahrim التحريم

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّبِىُّ لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ مَاۤ اَحَلَّ اللّٰهُ لَكَ‌ۚ تَبْتَغِىْ مَرْضَاتَ اَزْوَاجِكَ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ‏(1)

YAA AYYOHAN NABIYYO LEMA TOHARREMO MAA AHALLAL LAAHO LAK, TABTAGHEE MARZAATA AZWAAJEK, WAL LAAHO GHAFOORUR RAHEEM.

O Prophet! Why do you disallow [yourself] what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.

قَدْ فَرَضَ اللّٰهُ لَكُمْ تَحِلَّةَ اَيْمَانِكُمْ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ مَوْلٰٮكُمْ‌ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيْمُ الْحَكِيْمُ‏(2)

QAD FARAZAL LAAHO LAKUM TAHILLATA AYMAANEKUM, WAL LAAHO MAWLAAKUM, WA HOWAL A’LEEMUL HAKEEM.

Allah has certainly made lawful for you the dissolution of your oaths, and Allah is your master and He is the All-knowing, the All-wise.

وَاِذْ اَسَرَّ النَّبِىُّ اِلٰى بَعْضِ اَزْوَاجِهٖ حَدِيْثًا‌ۚ فَلَمَّا نَبَّاَتْ بِهٖ وَاَظْهَرَهُ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ عَرَّفَ بَعْضَهٗ وَاَعْرَضَ عَنْۢ بَعْضٍ‌ۚ فَلَمَّا نَبَّاَهَا بِهٖ قَالَتْ مَنْ اَنْۢبَاَكَ هٰذَا‌ؕ قَالَ نَبَّاَنِىَ الْعَلِيْمُ الْخَبِیْرُ‏(3)

WA IZ ASARRAN NABIYYO ELAA BA’ZE AZWAAJEHI HADEESAA, FALAMMAA NABBA-AT BEHI WA AZHARAHUL LAAHO A’LAYHE A’RRAFA BA’ZAHU WA A-A’RAZA A’M BA’Z, FALAMMAA NABBA-AHAA BEHI QAALAT MAN AMBA-AKA HAAZAA, QAALA NABBA-ANEYAL A’LEEMUL KHABEER.

When the Prophet confided a matter to one of his wives, but when she divulged it [instead of guarding the secret] and Allah apprised him about it, he acquainted [her] with part of the matter and ignored part of it. So when he told her about it, she said, ‘Who informed you about it?’ He said, ‘The All-knowing and the All-aware has informed me.’

اِنْ تَتُوْبَاۤ اِلَى اللّٰهِ فَقَدْ صَغَتْ قُلُوْبُكُمَا‌ۚ وَاِنْ تَظٰهَرَا عَلَيْهِ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ مَوْلٰٮهُ وَجِبْرِيْلُ وَصَالِحُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ‌ۚ وَالْمَلٰٓئِكَةُ بَعْدَ ذٰلِكَ ظَهِيْرٌ‏(4)

IN TATOOBAA ELAL LAAHE FAQAD SAGHAT QOLOOBOKOMAA, WA IN TAZAAHARAA A’LAYHE FA-INNAL LAAHA HOWA MAWLAAHO WA JIBREELO WA SAALEHUL MOAMENEEN, WAL MALAAA-EKATO BA’DA ZAALEKA ZAHEER.

If the two of you repent to Allah... for your hearts have certainly swerved, and if you back each other against him, then [know that] Allah is indeed his guardian, and his supporters are Gabriel, the righteous among the faithful and, thereafter, the angels.

عَسٰى رَبُّهٗۤ اِنْ طَلَّقَكُنَّ اَنْ يُّبْدِلَهٗۤ اَزْوَاجًا خَيْرًا مِّنْكُنَّ مُسْلِمٰتٍ مُّؤْمِنٰتٍ قٰنِتٰتٍ تٰٓئِبٰتٍ عٰبِدٰتٍ سٰٓئِحٰتٍ ثَيِّبٰتٍ وَّاَبْكَارًا‏(5)

A’SAA RABBOHU IN TALLAQAKUNNA AN-Y YUBDELAHU AZWAAJAN KHAYRAM MINKUNNA MUSLEMAATIM MOAMENAATIN QAANETAATIN TAAA-EBAATIN A’ABEDAATIN SAAA-EHAATIN SAYYEBAATINW WA ABKAARAA.

It may be that if he divorces you his Lord will give him, in [your] stead, wives better than you: [such as are] muslim, faithful, obedient, penitent, devout and given to fasting, virgins and non-virgins.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا قُوْۤا اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَاَهْلِيْكُمْ نَارًا وَّقُوْدُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ عَلَيْهَا مَلٰٓئِكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَّا يَعْصُوْنَ اللّٰهَ مَاۤ اَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُوْنَ مَا يُؤْمَرُوْنَ‏(6)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO QOO ANFOSAKUM WA AHLEEKUM NAARANW WAQOODOHAN NAASO WAL HEJAARATO A’LAYHAA MALAAA-EKATUN GHELAAZUN SHEDAADUL LAA YA’SOONAL LAAHA MAA AMARAHUM WA YAF-A’LOONA MAA YOAMAROON.

O you who have faith! Save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel will be people and stones, over which are [assigned] severe and mighty angels, who do not disobey whatever Allah commands them and carry out what they are commanded.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا الْيَوْمَ‌ؕ اِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ‏(7)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA KAFAROO LAA TA’TAZERUL YAWM, INNAMAA TUJZAWNA MAA KUNTUM TA’MALOON.

[They will call out to the faithless:] ‘O faithless ones! Do not make any excuses today. You are being requited only for what you used to do.’

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا تُوْبُوْۤا اِلَى اللّٰهِ تَوْبَةً نَّصُوْحًا ؕ عَسٰى رَبُّكُمْ اَنْ يُّكَفِّرَ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّاٰتِكُمْ وَيُدْخِلَكُمْ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِىْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ ۙ يَوْمَ لَا يُخْزِى اللّٰهُ النَّبِىَّ وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مَعَهٗ‌ ۚ نُوْرُهُمْ يَسْعٰى بَيْنَ اَيْدِيْهِمْ وَبِاَيْمَانِهِمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ رَبَّنَاۤ اَ تْمِمْ لَنَا نُوْرَنَا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا‌ ۚ اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ‏(8)

YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA AAMANOO TOOBOO ELAL LAAHE TAWBATAN NASOOHAA, A’SAA RABBOKUM AN-Y YOKAFFERA A’NKUM SAYYE-AATEKUM WA YUDKHELAKUM JANNAATIN TAJREE MIN TAHTEHAL ANHAARO, YAWMA LAA YUKHZIL LAAHUN NABIYYA WAL LAZEENA AAMANOO MA-A’H, NOOROHUM YAS-A’A BAYNA AYDEEHIM WA BE-AYMAANEHIM YAQOOLOONA RABBANAA ATMIM LANAA NOORANAA WAGH FIR LANAA, INNAKA A’LAA KULLE SHAY-IN QADEER.

O you who have faith! Repent to Allah with sincere repentance! Maybe your Lord will absolve you of your misdeeds and admit you into gardens with streams running in them, on the day when Allah will not let down the Prophet and the faithful who are with him. Their light will move swiftly before them and on their right. They will say, ‘Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive us! Indeed You have power over all things.’

يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّبِىُّ جَاهِدِ الْكُفَّارَ وَالْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ وَاغْلُظْ عَلَيْهِمْ‌ؕ وَمَاْوٰٮهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ‌ؕ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيْرُ‏(9)

YAA AYYOHAN NABIYYO JAAHEDIL KUFFAARA WAL MONAAFEQEENA WAGH LUZ A’LAYHIM, WA MAAWAAHUM JAHANNAM, WA BEASAL MASEER.

O Prophet! Wage jihad against the faithless and the hypocrites, and be severe with them. Their refuge will be hell, and it is an evil destination.

ضَرَبَ اللّٰهُ مَثَلًا لِّلَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا امْرَاَتَ نُوْحٍ وَّ امْرَاَتَ لُوْطٍ‌ ؕ كَانَتَا تَحْتَ عَبْدَيْنِ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا صَالِحَيْنِ فَخَانَتٰهُمَا فَلَمْ يُغْنِيَا عَنْهُمَا مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْئًا وَّقِيْلَ ادْخُلَا النَّارَ مَعَ الدّٰخِلِيْنَ‏(10)

ZARABAL LAAHO MASALAL LILLAZEENA KAFARUM RA-ATA NOOHINW WAM RA-ATA LOOT, KAANATAA TAHTA A’BDAYNE MIN E’BAADENAA SAALEHAYNE FA-KHAANATAAHOMAA FALAM YUGHNEYAA A’NHOMAA MENAL LAAHE SHAY-ANW WA QEELAD KHOLAN NAARA MA-A’D DAAKHELEEN.

Allah cites an example of the faithless: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were under two of our righteous servants, yet they betrayed them. So they did not avail them in any way against Allah, and it was said [to them], ‘Enter the Fire, along with those who enter [it].’

وَضَرَبَ اللّٰهُ مَثَلًا لِّلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا امْرَاَتَ فِرْعَوْنَ‌ۘ اِذْ قَالَتْ رَبِّ ابْنِ لِىْ عِنْدَكَ بَيْتًا فِى الْجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّنِىْ مِنْ فِرْعَوْنَ وَعَمَلِهٖ وَنَجِّنِىْ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظّٰلِمِيْنَۙ‏(11)

WA ZARABAL LAAHO MASALAL LILLAZEENA AAMANUM RA-ATA FIR-A’WN, IZ QAALAT RABBIB NE LEE I’NDAKA BAYTAN FIL JANNATE WA NAJJENEE MIN FIR-A’WNA WA A’MALEHI WA NAJJENEE MENAL QAWMIZ ZAALEMEEN.

Allah cites an example of the faithful: the wife of Pharaoh, when she said, ‘My Lord! Build me a home near You in paradise, and deliver me from Pharaoh and his conduct, and deliver me from the wrongdoing lot.’

وَمَرْيَمَ ابْنَتَ عِمْرٰنَ الَّتِىْۤ اَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيْهِ مِنْ رُّوْحِنَا وَصَدَّقَتْ بِكَلِمٰتِ رَبِّهَا وَكُتُبِهٖ وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْقٰنِتِيْنَ‏(12)

WA MARYAMAB NATA I’MRAANAL LATEE AHSANAT FARJAHAA FA-NAFAKHNAA FEEHE MIR ROOHENAA WA SADDAQAT BE-KALEMAATE RABBEHAA WA KOTOBEHI WA KAANAT MENAL QAANETEEN.

And Mary, daughter of Imran, who guarded the chastity of her womb, so We breathed into it of Our spirit. She confirmed the words of her Lord and His Books, and she was one of the obedient.
