Specific Recitation at the entrance

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللّٰهِ

A-ADKHOLO YAA NABIYYAL LAAHE

May I enter, O Prophet of Allah?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا امِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

A-ADKHOLO YAA AMEERAL MOAMENEENA

May I enter, O Commander of the Faithful?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا فَاطِمَةُ الزَّهْرَاءُ

A-ADKHOLO YAA FAATEMATUZ ZAHRAAA-O

May I enter, O Fatimah the luminous

سَيِّدَةَ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِينَ

SAYYEDATA NESAAA-IL A’ALAMEENA

and the doyenne of the women of the world?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ الْحَسَنُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

A-ADKHOLO YAA MAWLAAYAL HASANUBNA A’LIYYIN

May I enter, O my master al-Hasan the son of Ali?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

A-ADKHOLO YAA MAWLAAYAL HOSAYNUBNA A’LIYYIN

May I enter, O my master al-Husayn the son of Ali?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ عَلِيُّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ

A-ADKHOLO YAA MAWLAAYA A’LIYYUBNAL HOSAYNE

May I enter, O my master Ali the son of al-Husayn?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

A-ADKHOLO YAA MAWLAAYA MOHAMMADUBNA A’LIYYIN

May I enter, O my master Muhammad the son of Ali?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ جَعْفَرُ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ

A-ADKHOLO YAA MAWLAAYA JA’FARUBNA MOHAMMADIN

May I enter, O my master Ja`far the son of Muhammad?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ مُوسَىٰ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ

A-ADKHOLO YAA MAWLAAYA MOOSABNA JA’FARIN

May I enter, O my master Musa the son of Ja`far?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُوسَىٰ

A-ADKHOLO YAA MAWLAAYA A’LIYYUBNA MOOSAA

May I enter, O my master Ali the son of Musa?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

A-ADKHOLO YAA MAWLAAYA MOHAMMADUBNA A’LIYYIN

May I enter, O my master Muhammad the son of Ali?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ يَا اَبَا الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ

A-ADKHOLO YAA MAWLAAYA YAA ABAL HASANE A’LIYYUBNA MOHAMMADIN

May I enter, O my master Abul-Hasan Ali the son of Muhammad?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ يَا اَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَسَنُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

A-ADKHOLO YAA MAWLAAYA YAA ABAA MOHAMMADENIL HASANUBNA A’LIYYIN

May I enter, O my master Abu-Muhammad al-Hasan the son of Ali?

ءَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَلَائِكَةَ اللّٰهِ

A-ADKHOLO YAA MALAAA-EKATAL LAAHE

May I enter, O angels of Allah

الْمُوَكَّلِينَ بِهٰذَا الْحَرَمِ الشَّرِيفِ

ALMOWAKKALEENA BE-HAAZAL HARAMISH SHAREEFE

whom are assigned to manage this holy sanctuary?

You may then enter the holy shrine preceding your right foot to the left. When you stop on the tomb of Imam Abul-Hasan al-Hadi, peace be upon him, directing your face towards the tomb and your back towards the kiblah direction, you may repeat one hundred times:

اَللّٰهُ اكْبَرُ

ALLAAHO AKBARO

Allah is the Most Great.

You may then say the following

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا اَبَا الْحَسَنِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA ABAL HASANE

Peace be upon you, O Abul-Hasan

عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ

A’LIYYUBNA MOHAMMADIN

Ali the son of Muhammad,

الزَّكِيُّ الرَّاشِدُ

AZZAKIYYUR RAASHEDO

the pious, right-directing,

النُّورُ الثَّاقِبُ

ANNOORUS SAAQEBO

and brightly shining light.

وَرَحْمَةُ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهٗ

WA RAHMATUL LAAHE WA BARAKAATOHU

Allahs mercy and blessings be upon you.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَفِيَّ اللّٰهِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA SAFIYYAL LAAHE

Peace be upon you, O sincerely attached friend of Allah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سِرَّ اللّٰهِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA SIRRAL LAAHE

Peace be upon you, O confidant of Allah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبْلَ اللّٰهِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA HABLAL LAAHE

Peace be upon you, O rope of Allah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا آلَ اللّٰهِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA AALAL LAAHE

Peace be upon you, O household of Allah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خِيَرةَ اللّٰهِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA KHEYARATAL LAAHE

Peace be upon you, O select of Allah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَفْوَةَ اللّٰهِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA SAFWATAL LAAHE

Peace be upon you, O choice of Allah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا امِينَ اللّٰهِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA AMEENAL LAAHE

Peace be upon you, O trustee of Allah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَقَّ اللّٰهِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA HAQQAL LAAHE

Peace be upon you, O proof of Allah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبِيبَ اللّٰهِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA HABEEBAL LAAHE

Peace be upon you, O most-beloved by Allah.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نُورَ الانْوَارِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA NOORAL ANWAARE

Peace be upon you, O light of the lights.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا زَيْنَ الابْرَارِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA ZAYNAL ABRAARE

Peace be upon you, O pride of the virtuous ones.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَلِيلَ الاخْيَارِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA SALEELAL AKHYAARE

Peace be upon you, O descendant of the upright ones.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عُنْصُرَ الاطْهَارِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA U’NSORAL AT-HAARE

Peace be upon you, O essence of the purified ones.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ الرَّحْمٰنِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA HUJJATAR RAHMAANE

Peace be upon you, O argument of the All-beneficent God.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رُكْنَ الاِيمَانِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA RUKNAL EEMAANE

Peace be upon you, O essence of the true faith.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلَىٰ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA MAWLAL MOAMENEENA

Peace be upon you, O master of the believers.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَلِيَّ الصَّالِحِينَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA WALIYYAS SAALEHEENA

Peace be upon you, O guardian of the righteous ones.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلَمَ الْهُدَىٰ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA A’LAMAL HODAA

Peace be upon you, O symbol of true guidance.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَلِيفَ التُّقَىٰ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA HALEEFAT TOQAA

Peace be upon you, O ally of piety.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَمُودَ الدِّينِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA A’MOODAD DEENE

Peace be upon you, O mainstay of the religion.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YABNA KHAATAMIN NABIYYEENA

Peace be upon you, O son of the seal of the Prophets.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ سَيِّدِ الْوَصِيِّينَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YABNA SAYYEDIL WASIYYEENA

Peace be upon you, O son of the chief of the Prophets successors.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاءِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YABNA FAATEMATAZ ZAHRAAA-E

Peace be upon you, O son of Fatimah the Luminous

سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِينَ

SAYYEDATE NESAAA-IL A’ALAMEENA

and the doyenne of the women of the world.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الامِينُ الْوَفِيُّ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAL AMEENUL WAFIYYO

Peace be upon you, O faithful trustee.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْعَلَمُ الرَّضِيُّ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAL A’LAMUR RAZIYYO

Peace be upon you, O favorite epitome.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الزَّاهِدُ التَّقِيُّ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAZ ZAAHEDUT TAQIYYO

Peace be upon you, O ascetic and pious.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْحُجَّةُ عَلَىٰ الْخَلْقِ اَجْمَعِينَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAL HUJJATO A’LAL KHALQE AJMA-E’ENA

Peace be upon you, O decisive argument against all creatures.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا التَّالِي لِلْقُرْآنِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAT TAALEE LILQUR-AANE

Peace be upon you, O reciter of the Qur'an.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْمُبَيِّنُ لِلْحَلَالِ مِنَ الْحَرَامِ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAL MOBAYYENO LILHALAALE MENAL HARAAME

Peace be upon you, O distinguishing between the lawful and the unlawful.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْوَلِيُّ النَّاصِحُ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAL WALIYYUN NAASEHO

Peace be upon you, O sincere saint.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الطَّرِيقُ الْوَاضِحُ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAT TAREEQUL WAAZEHO

Peace be upon you, O evident course.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا النَّجْمُ اللَّائِحُ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAN NAJMUL LAAA-EHO

Peace be upon you, O bright star.

اَشْهَدُ يَا مَوْلَايَ يَا اَبَا الْحَسَنِ

ASH-HADO YAA MAWLAAYA YAA ABAL HASANE

I bear witness, O my master Abul-Hasan,

اِنَّكَ حُجَّةُ اللّٰهِ عَلَىٰ خَلْقِهٖ

ANNAKA HUJJATUL LAAHE A’LAA KHALQEHI

that you are verily the decisive argument of Allah against His creatures,

وَخَلِيفَتُهٗ فِي بَرِيَّتِهٖ

WA KHALEEFATOHU FEE BARIYYATEHI

His representative among His created beings,

وَامِينُهٗ فِي بِلَادِهٖ

WA AMEENOHU FEE BELAADEHI

His trusted administrator in His lands,

وَشَاهِدُهٗ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهٖ

WA SHAAHEDOHU A’LAA E’BAADEHI

and His witness over His servants.

وَاشْهَدُ اِنَّكَ كَلِمَةُ التَّقْوَىٰ

WA ASH-HADO ANNAKA KALEMATUT TAQWAA

I also bear witness that you are verily the word of piety,

وَبَابُ الْهُدَىٰ

WA BAABUL HODAA

the door to true guidance,

وَالْعُرْوَةُ الْوُثْقَىٰ

WAL U’RWATUL WUSQAA

the Firmest Handle,

وَالْحُجَّةُ عَلَىٰ مَنْ فَوْقَ الارْضِ

WAL HUJJATO A’LAA MAN FAWQAL ARZE

and the evident proof against those who are on the earth

وَمَنْ تَحْتَ الثَّرَىٰ

WA MAN TAHTAS SARAA

and those who are beneath the layers of the soil.

وَاشْهَدُ اِنَّكَ الْمُطَهَّرُ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ

WA ASH-HADO ANNAKAL MOTAHHARO MENAZ ZONOOBE

I bear witness that you are purified from sins,

الْمُبَرَّا مِنَ الْعُيُوبِ

ALMOBARRAA MENAL O’YOOBE

cleaned against defects,

وَالْمُخْتَصُّ بِكَرَامَةِ اللّٰهِ

WAL MUKHTASSO BE-KARAAMATIL LAAHE

bestowed with the honor of Allah,

وَالْمَحْبُوُّ بِحُجَّةِ اللّٰهِ

WAL MAHBUWWO BE-HUJJATIL LAAHE

endued with the proof of Allah,

وَالْمَوْهُوبُ لَهٗ كَلِمَةُ اللّٰهِ

WAL MAWHOOBO LAHU KALEMATUL LAAHE

granted the Word of Allah,

وَالرُّكْنُ الَّذِي يَلْجَا اِِلَيْهِ الْعِبَادُ

WAR RUKNUL LAZEE YALJAA ELAYHIL E’BAADO

and the stronghold to whom the servants (of Allah) resort

وَتُحْيَىٰ بِهِ الْبِلَادُ

WA TOHYAA BEHIL BELAADO

and by whom the lands are revived.

وَاشْهَدُ يَا مَوْلَايَ

WA ASH-HADO YAA MAWLAAYA

I bear witness, O my master,

انِّي بِكَ وَبِآبَائِكَ وَابْنَائِكَ مُوقِنٌ مُقِرٌّ

ANNEE BEKA WA BE-AABAAA-EKA WA ABNAAA-EKA MOOQENUM MOQIRRUN

that I have faith in and I submit to you, your forefathers and your sons,

وَلَكُمْ تَابِعٌ فِي ذَاتِ نَفْسِي

WA LAKUM TAABE-U’N FEE ZAATE NAFSEE

I follow all of you in my personal affairs,

وَشَرَايِعِ دِينِي

WA SHARAAYE-E’ DEENEE

in my religious performance,

وَخَاتِمَةِ عَمَلِي

WA KHAATEMATE A’MALEE

in the seals of my deed,

وَمُنْقَلَبِي وَمَثْوَايَ

WA MUNQALABEE WA MASWAAYA

and in my return and final place.

وَانِّي وَلِيٌّ لِمَنْ وَالَاكُمْ

WA ANNEE WALIYYUL LEMANW WAALAAKUM

I do show loyalty to your loyalists,

وَعَدُوٌّ لِمَنْ عَادَاكُمْ

WA A’DUWWUL LEMAN A’ADAAKUM

I show enmity towards your enemies,

مُؤْمِنٌ بِسِرِّكُمْ وَعَلَانِيَتِكُمْ

MOAMENUN BE-SIRREKUM WA A’LAANEYATEKUM

I believe in all of the invisible and the visible,

وَاوَّلِكُمْ وَآخِرِكُمْ

WA AWWALEKUM WA AAKHEREKUM

and the first and the last of you.

بِابِي انْتَ وَامِّي

BE-ABEE ANTA WA UMMEE

May Allah accept my father and mother as ransoms for you.

وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَةُ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهٗ

WAS SALAAMO A’LAYKA WA RAHMATUL LAAHE WA BARAKAATOHU

Peace and Allahs mercy and blessings be upon you.

You may then kiss the tomb and place your right and then left cheeks on it and say the following words:

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALE MOHAMMADIN

O Allah, (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ حُجَّتِكَ الْوَفِيِّ

WA SALLE A’LAA HUJJATEKAL WAFIYYE

and send blessings upon Your faithful demonstrator,

وَوَلِيِّكَ الزَّكِيِّ

WA WALIYYEKAZ ZAKIYYE

Your sagacious representative,

وَامِينِكَ الْمُرْتَضَىٰ

WA AMEENEKAL MURTAZAA

Your well-pleased trustee,

وَصَفِيِّكَ الْهَادِي

WA SAFIYYEKAL HAADEE

Your sincerely attached guide,

وَصِرَاطِكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ

WA SERAATEKAL MUSTAQEEME

Your Right Path,

وَالْجَادَّةِ الْعُظْمَىٰ

WAL JAADDATIL U’ZMAA

the most important approach,

وَالطَّرِيقَةِ الْوُسْطَىٰ

WAT TAREEQATIL WUSTAA

the just and equitable course,

نُورِ قُلُوبِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

NOORE QOLOOBIL MOAMENEENA

the light of the faithful believers hearts,

وَوَلِيِّ الْمُتَّقِينَ

WA WALIYYIL MUTTAQEENA

the friend of the pious ones,

وَصَاحِبِ الْمُخْلِصِينَ

WA SAAHEBIL MUKHLESEENA

and the comrade of the sincere.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَاهْلِ بَيْتِهٖ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA SAYYEDENAA MOHAMMADINW WA AHLE BAYTEHI

O Allah, (please do) send blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon his Household

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

WA SALLE A’LAA A’LIYYIBNE MOHAMMADIN

and send blessings upon Ali the son of Muhammad,

الرَّاشِدِ الْمَعْصُومِ مِنَ الزَّلَلِ

ARRAASHEDIL MA’SOOME MENAZ ZALALE

the rightly-directing, the infallible guide,

وَالطَّاهِرِ مِنَ الْخَلَلِ

WAT TAAHERE MENAL KHALALE

the free from defects,

وَالْمُنْقَطِعِ اِِلَيْكَ بِالامَلِ

WAL MUNQATE-E’ ELAYKA BIL-AMALE

who, putting hope in You, kept himself aloof from temptations,

الْمَبْلُوِّ بِالْفِتَنِ

ALMABLUWWE BIL-FETANE

who was tried (by You) through seditious matters,

وَالْمُخْتَبَرِ بِالْمِحَنِ

WAL MUKHTABARE BIL-MEHANE

who was tested (by You) through tribulations,

وَالْمُمْتَحَنِ بِحُسْنِ الْبَلْوَىٰ

WAL MUMTAHANE BE-HUSNIL BALWAA

who was examined (by You) through acting excellently towards misfortunes,

وَصَبْرِ الشَّكْوَىٰ

WA SABRISH SHAKWAA

and through steadfastness against complaining;

مُرْشِدِ عِبَادِكَ

MURSHEDE E’BAADEKA

(he is) the spiritual guide of Your servants,

وَبَرَكَةِ بِلَادِكَ

WA BARAKATE BELAADEKA

the blessing for Your lands,

وَمَحَلِّ رَحْمَتِكَ

WA MAHALLE RAHMATEKA

the destination of Your mercy,

ومُسْتَوْدَعِ حِكْمَتِكَ

WA MUSTAWDA-E’ HIKMATEKA

the hoarder of Your wisdom,

وَالْقَائِدِ اِلَىٰ جَنَّتِكَ

WAL QAAA-EDE ELAA JANNATEKA

the leader to Your Paradise,

الْعَالِمِ فِي بَرِيَّتِكَ

AL-A’ALEME FEE BARIYYATEKA

the all-knowledgeable among Your created beings,

وَالْهَادِي فِي خَلِيقَتِكَ

WAL HAADEE FEE KHALEEQATEKA

the true guide of Your creatures,

الَّذِي ارْتَضَيْتَهٗ وَانْتَجَبْتَهٗ

ALLAZIR TAZAYTAHU WAN TAJABTAHU

whom You pleased, preferred,

وَاخْتَرْتَهٗ لِمَقَامِ رَسُولِكَ فِي امَّتِهٖ

WAKH TARTAHU LE-MAQAAME RASOOLEKA FEE UMMATEHI

selected to take the place of Your Prophet among his people,

وَالْزَمْتَهٗ حِفْظَ شَرِيعَتِهٖ

WA ALZAMTAHU HIFZA SHAREE-A’TEHI

and bounded with the guardianship of his laws.

فَاسْتَقَلَّ بِاعْبَاءِ الْوَصِيَّةِ

FASTAQALLA BE-A-A’BAAA-IL WASIYYATE

So, he accomplished the onerous task of representation (of the Prophet),

نَاهِضاً بِهَا

NAAHEZAN BEHAA

carrying it perfectly,

ومُضْطَلِعاً بِحَمْلِهَا

WA MUZTALE-A’N BE-HAMLEHAA

and undertaking the responsibility of bearing it.

لَمْ يَعْثُرْ فِي مُشْكِلٍ

LAM YA’SUR FEE MUSHKELIN

He neither slipped in any problematic action

وَلَا هَفَا فِي مُعْضِلٍ

WA LAA HAFAA FEE MO’ZELIN

nor did he fail to solve any complexity.

بَلْ كَشَفَ الْغُمَّةَ

BAL KASHAFAL GHUMMATA

Rather, he relieved all agonies,

وَسَدَّ الْفُرْجَةَ

WA SADDAL FURJATA

sealed the loopholes,

وَادَّىٰ الْمُفْتَرَضَ

WA ADDAL MUFTARAZA

and fulfilled the required.

اَللّٰهُمَّ فَكَمَا اقْرَرْتَ نَاظِرَ نَبِيِّكَ بِهٖ

ALLAAHUMMA FAKAMAA AQRARTA NAAZERA NABIYYEKA BEHI

O Allah, just as You made him a source of delight for Your Prophet,

فَرَقِّهٖ دَرَجَتَهٗ

FARAQQEHI DARAJATAHU

so also (please) raise him to the most elevated position,

وَاجْزِلْ لَدَيْكَ مَثُوبَتَهٗ

WA AJZIL LADAYKA MASOOBATAHU

give him the most fitting reward that suits him,

وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ

WA SALLE A’LAYHE

bless him,

وَبَلِّغْهُ مِنَّا تَحِيَّةً وَسَلَاماً

WA BALLIGH-HO MINNAA TAHIYYATANW WA SALAAMAN

convey our greetings and salutations to him,

وَآتِنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ فِي مُوَالَاتِهٖ فَضْلَاً وَاِِحْسَاناً

WA AATENAA MIL LADUNKA FEE MOWAALAATEHI FAZLANW WA EHSAANAN

and give us, on account of our love for him, from You bounties, favors,

وَمَغْفِرَةً وَرِضْوَاناً

WA MAGHFERATANW WA RIZWAANAN

amnesty, and approval.

اِِنَّكَ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ

INNAKA ZUL FAZLIL A’ZEEME

Verily, You are the Lord of superabundant favors.

Salawat Upon Imam al-Naqi

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA A’LIYYIBNE MOHAMMADIN

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon `Ali the son of Muhammad,

وَصِيِّ الَاوْصِيَاءِ

WASIYYIL AWSEYAAA-E

the successor of the Successors,

وَاِمَامِ الَاتْقِيَاءِ

WA EMAAMIL ATQEYAAA-E

the leader of the pious,

وَخَلَفِ اَئِمَّةِ الدِّينِ

WA KHALAFE A-IMMATID DEENE

the descendant of the leaders of the religion,

وَالْحُجَّةِ عَلَىٰ الْخَلَائِقِ اَجْمَعِينَ

WAL HUJJATE A’LAL KHALAAA-EQE AJMA-E’ENA

and the argument against all of the creatures.

اَللّٰهُمَّ كَمَا جَعَلْتَهٗ نُوراً يَسْتَضِيءُ بِهِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ

ALLAAHUMMA KAMAA JA-A’LTAHU NOORAN-Y YASTAZEE-O BEHIL MOAMENOONA

O Allah, as You have made him the source of light from which the believers derive light,

فَبَشَّرَ بِالْجَزِيلِ مِنْ ثَوَابِكَ

FABASH-SHARA BIL-JAZEELE MIN SAWAABEKA

and so he conveyed the good tidings of Your abundant reward,

وَاَنْذَرَ بِالَالِيمِ مِنْ عِقَابِكَ

WA ANZARA BIL-ALEEME MIN E’QAABEKA

warned against Your painful punishment,

وَحَذَّرَ بَاْسَكَ

WA HAZZARA BAASAKA

notified against Your prowess,

وَذَكَّرَ بِآيَاتِكَ

WA ZAKKARA BE-AAYAATEKA

reminded of Your signs,

وَاَحَلَّ حَلَالَكَ

WA AHALLA HALAALAKA

rendered legal that which You have deemed legal,

وَحَرَّمَ حَرَامَكَ

WA HARRAMA HARAAMAKA

rendered illegal that which You have deemed illegal,

وَبَيَّنَ شَرَائِعَكَ وَفَرَائِضَكَ

WA BAYYANA SHARAAA-E-A’KA WA FARAAA-EZAKA

explained Your laws and the duties towards You,

وَحَضَّ عَلَىٰ عِبَادَتِكَ

WA HAZZA A’LAA E’BAADATEKA

encouraged on servitude to You,

وَاَمَرَ بِطَاعَتِكَ

WA AMARA BE-TAA-A’TEKA

enjoined obedience to You,

وَنَهَىٰ عَنْ مَعْصِيَتِكَ

WA NAHAA A’M MA’SEYATEKA

and forbade disobedience to You,

فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ

FASALLE A’LAYHE

so also (please) bless him

اَفْضَلَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ اَحَدٍ

AFZALA MAA SALLAYTA A’LAA AHADIN

with the most favorite blessings that You have ever bestowed

مِنْ اَوْلِيَائِكَ وَذُرِّيَّةِ اَنْبِيَائِكَ

MIN AWLEYAAA-EKA WA ZURRIYYATE ANBEYAAA-EKA

upon any of Your intimate servants and descendants of Your Prophets.

يَا اِلٰهَ الْعَالَمِينَ

YAA ELAAHAL A’ALAMEENA

O God of the Worlds!
