Ziyarat on Saturday

Text and Translation

On Saturday, recite this ziyarat of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.):

اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهٗ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ

ASH-HADO AN LAA ELAAHA ILLAL LAAHO WAHDAHU LAA SHAREEKA LAHU

I testify that there is no god save Allah; He is One; there is no associate (partner) with Him.

وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ رَسُوْلُهٗ وَاَنَّكَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ

WA ASH-HADO ANNAKA RASOOLOHU WA ANNAKA MOHAMMADUBNO A’BDIL LAAHE

I testify that you are His Apostle, and you are Mohammad son of Abdullah;

وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّكَ وَنَصَحْتَ لِاُمَّتِكَ

WA ASH-HADO ANNAKA QAD BALLAGHTA RESAALAATE RABBEKA WA NASAHTA LEUMMATEKA

and I testify that you had delivered the Message of your Lord, advised and warned your followers (Ummah) like a sincere friend,

وَجَاهَدْتَ فِیْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ

WA JAAHADTA FEE SABEELIL LAAHE BILHIKMATE WAL MAWE’ZATIL HASANATE

and strived in the way of Allah with wisdom and goodly exhortation,

وَاَدَّيْتَ الَّذِیْ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ

WA ADDAYTAL LAZEE A’LAYKA MENAL HAQQE

and fulfilled the duty of truth that was upon you;

وَاَنَّكَ قَدْ رَؤُٔفْتَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَغَلَظْتَ عَلَی الْكَافِرِيْنَ

WA ANNAKA QAD RAOOFTA BILMOMENEENA WA GHALAZTA A’LAL KAAFEREEN

(and) you had been kind and compassionate to the believers, (but) was harsh with the disbelievers,

وَعَبَدْتَ اللهَ مُخْلِصًا حَتّٰی اَتٰيكَ الْيَقِيْنُ

WA A’BADTAL LAAHA MUKHLESAN HATTAA ATAAKAL YAQEENO

and had sincerely served Allah, till the inevitable (what was certain) came unto you.

فَبَلَغَ اللهُ بِكَ اَشْرَفِ مَحَلِّ الْمُكَرَّمِيْنَ

FABALAGHAL LAAHO BEKA ASHRAFA MAHALLIL MOKARRAMEENA

So Allah made you reach the highest stage of glory and honour.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِیْ اسْتَنْقَذَنَا بِكَ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ وَالضَّلَالَةِ

ALHAMDOLIL LAAHIL LAZEES TANQAZANAA BEKA MENASH SHIRKE WAZ ZALAALATE

(All) praise is for Allah (only) who saved us through you from the polytheism and going astray.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِهٖ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADINW WA AALEHI

O Allah! Send blessings on Mohammad and on his children.

وَاجْعَلْ صَلَوَاتِكَ وَصَلَوَاتِ مَلَآئِكَتِكَ

WAJ A’L SALAWAATEKA WA SALAWAATE MALAAEKATEKA

Your blessings, and invocations of Your Angels,

وَاَنْبِيَائِكَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ وَعِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِيْنَ

WA AMBEYAAEKA WALMURSALEEN WA E’BAADEKAS SAALEHEENA

(of) Your Prophets and Apostles, (of) Your pious servants,

وَاَهْلِ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْاَرَضِيْنَ

WA AHLIS SAMAAWAATE WAL ARAZEEN

(of) the people of the heavens and the earths,

وَمَنْ سَبَّحَ لَكَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ مِنَ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ وَالْاٰخِرِيْنَ

WA MAN SABBAHA LAKA YAA RABBAL A’ALAMEEN MENAL AWWALEENA WAL AAKHEREEN

and (of) those who glorify You, (O the Lord of the worlds), from among the ancient and the present,

عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُوْلِكَ وَنَبِيِّكَ وَاَمِيْنِكَ

A’LAA MOHAMMADIN A’BDEKA WA RASOOLEKA WA NABIYYEKA WA AMEENEKA

be on Mohammad, Your servant and Apostle Your Prophet Your confidant,

وَنَجِيِّكَ وَحَبِيْبِكَ وَصَفِيِّكَ وَصِفْوَتِكَ وَخَاصَّتِكَ

WA NAJEEBEKA WA HABEEBEKA WA SAFIYYEKA WA SIFWATEKA WA KHAASSATEKA

Your noble one, Your beloved, Your pure one, Your chosen one, Your special one,

وَخَالِصَتِكَ وَخِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

WA KHAALESATEKA WA KHEYARATEKA MIN KHALQEKA

Your sincere one, and Your choice from among Your creation;

وَاَعْطِهِ الْفَضْلَ وَالْفَضِيْلَةَ وَالْوَسِيْلَةَ وَالدَّرَجَةَ الرَّفِيْعَةَ

WA AA’TEHIL FAZLA WAL FAZEELATA WAL WASEELATA WADDARAJATAR RAFEEA’TA

and grant him the excellence, the merit, the means (al-Wasilah) and the lofty rank,

وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَّحْمُوْدًا يَّغْبِطُهٗ بِهِ الْاَوَّلُوْنَ وَالْاٰخِرُوْنَ

WABA’SHO MAQAAMAM MAHMOODANY YAGHBETOHU BEHIL AWWALOONA WAL AAKHEROONA

and raise him to a praiseworthy station for which the first and the last will envy him.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّكَ قُلْتَ وَلَوْ اَنَّهُمْ اِذْ ظَلَمُوْا اَنْفُسَهُمْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNAKA QULTA WA LAW ANNAHUM IZZALAMOO ANFOSAHUM

O Allah. You said: “And if, when they had wronged themselves, they had

جَآئُوْكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوْا اللهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُوْلُ

JAAAOOO-KA FASTAGHFARUL LAAHA WASTAGHFARA LAHOMUR RASOOLO

but come unto you and asked forgiveness of Allah, and asked forgiveness of the Apostle,

لَوَجَدُوْا اللهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيْمًا

LAWAJADUL LAAHA TAWWAABAR RAHEEMAN

they would have found Allah Forgiving, Merciful.”

اِلٰهِیْ فَقَدْ اَتَيْتُ نَبِيَّكَ مُسْتَغْفِرًا

ELAAHI FAQAD ATAYTO NABIYYAKA MUSTAGHFERAN

O my God, I have come to Your Prophet seeking forgiveness,

تَآئِبًا مِنْ ذُنُوْبِیْ فَصَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِهٖ

TAAEBAN MIN ZONOOBEE FASALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN WA AALEHI

repenting from my sins; so bless Muhammad and his family,

وَاغْفِرْ هَالِیْ يَا سَيِّدَنَا اَتَوَجَّهُ بِكَ

WAGH FIR HAALEE YAA SAYYEDANAA ATAWAJJAHO BEKA

and forgive me. O our master, I turn through you

وَبِاَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ اِلَی اللهِ تَعَالٰی رَبِّكَ وَرَبِّیْ لِيَغْفِرَ لِیْ

WA BEAHLEBAYTEKA ELAL LAAHE TA-A’ALAA RABBEKA WA RABBEE LEYAGHFERA LEE

and through your Household to Allah, the Exalted, your Lord and my Lord, that He may forgive me.

Say 3 times:

اِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَاِنَّا اِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ

INNAA LILLAAHE WA INNAA ELAYHE RAAJEO’ON

Verily we are Allah’s; and verily unto Him shall we return.

اُصِبْنَا بِكَ يَا حَبِيْبَ قُلُوْبِنَا

OSIBNAA BEKA YAA HABEEBA QOLOOBENAA

We have been afflicted with (the loss of) you, O beloved of our hearts!

فَمَا اَعْظَمَ الْمُصِيْبَةَ بِكَ حَيْثُ انْقَطَعَ عَنَّا الْوَحْیُ

FAMAAA A’ZAMAL MOSEEBATA BEKA HAYSUN QATA-A’ A’NNAL WAHYO

How great is the calamity of you, since the revelation has been cut off from us

وَحَيْثُ فَقَدْ نَاكَ فَاِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَاِنَّا اِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ

WA HAYSO FAQAD NAAKA FAINNAA LILLAAHE WA INNAA ELAYHE RAAJEO’ON

and since we lost you! Verily we are Allah’s; and verily unto Him shall we return.

يَا سَيِّدَنَا يَا رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْكَ

YAA SAYYEDANAA YAA RASOOLAL LAAHE SALAWAATUL LAAHE A’LAYKA

O our Chief! O our Apostle of Allah! Blessings of Allah be on you and on the pure

وَعَلٰی اٰلِ بَيْتِكَ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ

WA A’LAA AALEBAYTEKAT TAAHEREENA

and pious people of your house.

هٰذَا يَوْمُ السَّبْتِ وَهُوَ يَوْمُكَ

HAAZAA YAWMUS SABTE WA HOWA YAWMOKA

Today is Saturday, your day,

وَاَنَا فِيْهِ ضَيْفُكَ وَجَارُكَ

WA ANAA FEEHE ZAYFOKA WA JAAROKA

and I am your guest and your neighbour on it;

فَاَضِفْنِیْ وَاَجِرْنِیْ فَاِنَّكَ كَرِيْمٌ

FA-AZIFNEE WA AJIRNEE FA-INNAKA KAREEMUN

so receive me as your guest and grant me protection, for you are generous,

تُحِبُّ الضِّيَافَةَ وَمَاْمُوْرٌ بِالْاِجَارَةِ

TOHIBBUZ ZEYAAFATA WA MAAMOORUN BILEJAARATA

you love hospitality and are commanded to grant protection;

فَاَضِفْنِیْ وَاَحْسِنْ ضِيَافَتِیْ

FAAZIFNEE WA-AHSIN ZEYAAFATEE

so receive me as your guest and host me well,

وَاَجِرْنَا وَاَحْسِنْ اِجَارَتَنَا

WA-AJIRNAA WA-AHSIN EJAARATANAA

and protect us and grant us good protection,

بِمَنْزِلَةِ اللهِ عِنْدَكَ وَعِنْدَ اٰلِ بَيْتِكَ

BEMANZELATIL LAAHE I’NDAKA WA I’NDA AALEBAYTEKA

by the status of Allah with you and with your Household,

وَبِمَنْزِلَتِهِمْ عِنْدَهٗ وَبِمَا اسْتَوْدَعَكُمْ مِنْ عِلْمِهٖ

WA BEMANZELATEHIM I’NDAHU WA BEMASTAWDA-A’KUM MIN I’LMEHI

and by their status with Him, and by the knowledge of His that He has entrusted to you,

فَاِنَّهٗ اَكْرَمُ الْاَكْرَمِيْنَ.

FAINNAHU AKRAMUL AKRAMEEN.

for He is the Most Generous of the generous.
